The Israeli military announced on Saturday that it killed Mohammad Sinwar, a Hamas commander in Gaza, on May 13. This confirms an earlier statement made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week.
Mohammad Sinwar was reportedly the target of an Israeli strike on a hospital in southern Gaza earlier this month. Netanyahu stated on Wednesday that he had been killed.
Mohammad Sinwar was the younger brother of Yahya Sinwar, the deceased leader of Hamas and a key figure in the October 2023 attack on Israel.
As of this report, Hamas has not confirmed or denied Mohammad Sinwar’s death.
