HBO’s new Harry Potter TV reboot is beginning to take shape after more than 20 new cast members were confirmed.

The re-imagining of J.K. Rowling’s series has certainly not been without controversy, but 14 years after the final part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the wizardly world of magic will be making its return.

In May last year, HBO announced that Dominic McLaughlin will take up the role of Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton is cast as Hermione Granger, while Alastair Stout will portray Ron Weasley.

Now, however, the studio has taken their next step in casting dozens of major characters to play Hogwarts’ students, teachers and other important figures.

Sharing four new images on Instagram, HBO confirmed which new actors will be representing Hogwarts’ four houses.

The new update confirms five characters from Gryffindor, eight from Slytherin, four from Hufflepuff and four from Ravenclaw.

Reacting to the announcement, fans praised what looked to be ‘literally perfect casting’.

However, the image showing the eight new cast members for Slytherin was particularly raved about in the comments section.

Responding to the post, @ferluooliviera wrote: ‘The way the Slytherins are in character,’ as @usmondo said: ‘They have totally nailed that.’
