CCTV footage has been released of The Only Way Is Essex star Jordan Wright shortly before his death in Thailand, aged 33.
The reality star, who previously dated Vicky Pattison, was found dead in a Phuket drainage canal, having travelled to the country in December on a digital nomad visa.
The new footage was taken before midnight on March 12, within the grounds of Hotel COCO Phuket Bangtao Beach, where rooms cost around £23 a night.
In the black and white video, Wright is seen running erratically and checking over his shoulder, as if he was being pursued by someone.
Thai police have said the circumstances under which Wright died are ‘unclear’, stating it is possible ‘other people were involved’.
In the CCTV footage, Wright is seen grabbing onto a parked white Toyota pickup truck to steady himself before rounding the corner out of shot.
A person sits nearby on a motorbike, but does not look up or seem to notice Wright, while looking at what appears to be their phone.
Wright was then seen running out of the hotel grounds again and dashing across the surrounding fields.
Two days later, he was found dead in a drainage canal on a construction site by a worker from Myanmar. Wright was said to have been lying face down and fully clothed in stagnant water, around 300 metres away from his hotel room.
There are no CCTV cameras in the area of wasteland where he was discovered.
Wright had been due to check out on March 13, but the hotel staff had been unable to reach him.
Police are now investigating whether Wright was fleeing someone in the footage and have said CCTV is being checked to assess where he was earlier in the evening.
Sutthirak Chuthong of Choeng Thale police station said: ‘The circumstances leading up to the death are quite unclear. It is possible that other people were involved.’
He went on to say that the police force is still awaiting an autopsy report from Vachira Phuket Hospital.
Wright had posted about his time in Phuket earlier this month, sharing pictures of himself on Instagram with the caption: ‘I’m home… ft the best bath I’ve ever taken’.
The late Essex-based media personality appeared on eight episodes of MTV’s Ex On The Beach in 2017 and 17 episodes of Towie in 2018 and has also worked across the fire services, financial investment and DJing.
