In some families, cousins only see each other at Christmas or on their birthdays, but Callum Brown, 20, and Katie Smith, 25, have a much closer relationship.

Relatives first, business partners second, the pair work together on Callum’s OnlyFans account.

While Callum is the star of the show — filming solo and partnered sex scenes — Katie films her cousin in action.

Sounds awkward? According to the pair, it’s not an issue.

‘Katie isn’t bothered whatsoever by the filming,’ says Callum. ‘She’s less shy than me.’

‘Katie used to photograph weddings’

Callum decided to create an OnlyFans account back in July 2025, having grown tired of working in the hospitality industry.

The 20-year-old from Essex, who’d been working at a Joe & The Juice, shared: ‘I hated travelling back and forth to work and working for someone else.’

Ultimately, after posting a few suggestive videos on TikTok, he made the decision to join the explicit adult platform. And although he didn’t initially plan to filming proper sex scenes on his account, that quickly changed.

In September of last year, Callum posted his first ever sex scene on OnlyFans — quickly realising that he’d need help to keep the account growing.

He shares: ‘I needed a camera operator to film my videos, but I was uncomfortable with the idea of a random person filming me. My first scene was filmed by the partner of the guy I was in the scene with; it was so awkward.’

He continued: ‘I asked a few of my friends to do it, but they all said no, so I asked my cousin, as she used to photograph weddings.’

Katie was immediately onboard, excited at the prospect of earning some extra cash, as Callum offered to give her a small cut of his money.

‘My bits were already out there for the world to see’

At first, Callum explains that cousin Katie ‘took shots of me in my boxers for my Instagram, which I use for promotion.’

From there, Katie started also filming solo videos of her cousin. And in November of last year, after just a few months of working together, the relatives took things one step further, with Katie officially taking charge of filming all of Callum’s partnered sex scenes.

The OnlyFans star explains: ‘Having her film me was a bit nerve-wracking at first, but I thought, “my bits are already out there for the world to see, so I might as well give my cousin a job and help her out financially”.

For Katie, she explains that while she was initially ‘a bit taken aback’ when her cousin first approached her, she knew he needed help to get where he wanted to be.

She shares: ‘Filming sex scenes for him doesn’t really bother me, I just sit there and make sure the camera is in the right position, and then just scroll on my phone, but I’m not fazed by anything I see.

‘I’d like to continue working with Callum, it’s nice to have the extra cash, and help family out.’

‘Our nan thinks it’s great’

Talking of family, the pair share that there’s been mixed reactions from different relatives — revealing that funnily enough, it’s been their nan who’s been the most supportive.

Callum explains: ‘My family’s reaction has been mixed. You’d think my nan would be old fashioned, but she thinks it’s great — I’m helping family out.’

The 20-year-old’s father is also supportive, with Callum sharing that his dad gave him £100 to kickstart the OnlyFans venture.

His mum, however, isn’t as keen on the partnership, insisting that the cousins working together in this capacity is ‘crossing the line.’

Callum pays Katie £450 a month for around nine hours of work, meaning she gets around £50 an hour. He also chips in for her travel and regularly takes her for food after they’re done shooting.

Alongside her day job, this gives Katie a good cash boost to tide her over until Callum is at a point in his career where he can hire her full time.

Although initially being a bit nervous when the cousins first started working together, Callum now says there’s nothing he would feel uncomfortable with Katie filming.

So, maybe keeping it in the family is the way to go?

Can you marry your cousin in the UK?

Here in Britain, it’s legal for first cousins to marry.

That doesn’t mean cousins getting married haven’t come under fire, however, and there have been growing calls for the practice to be banned in recent years.

Elsewhere, it’s banned in countries like China, South Korea, the Philippines, Belgium, Lithuania and various US states, with Norway and Sweden becoming the latest nations to introduce laws against first-cousin marriage.

So, why is first cousin marriage is so controversial?

Stigma around the practice is partly cultural, but concerns tend to come from research suggesting children can suffer from a higher rate of disease or infant mortality. The evidence is far from clear-cut though.

According to Alan Bittles, from the Centre for Comparative Genomics in Australia, the risk of birth defects rises from roughly 2% in the general population to 4% for first cousins, but the adjunct professor and research leader claimed ‘it would be a mistake to ban it’ and potential issues should be ‘kept in perspective’.

Similarly, Professors Diane Paul of the University of Massachusetts in Boston and Hamish Spencer of the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand compared the risk of birth defects in first-cousin relationships to those of mothers over 40.
