Iconic designer Anya Hindmarch takes over Boots aisles with an eye-catching overhaul

If you aren’t familiar with Anya Hindmarch by name, you’ll almost certainly recognise her work. From her instantly iconic googly eyes to the much-loved Universal Bag, Hindmarch has a knack for transforming everyday essentials into covetable design pieces.

Her supermarket collaborations caused a nationwide stir, with stylish reimaginings for the likes of Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Morrisons flying off shelves almost as quickly as they arrived.

Now, she’s setting her sights on a different British institution. Swapping supermarket aisles for beauty counters, Anya has teamed up with Boots for a playful new collaboration that celebrates the brand’s rich history, long-standing pharmacy heritage – and its place in all of our lives.

Speaking about the partnership, Anya said: ‘This is a truly iconic collaboration for me – Boots is part of the very fabric of the UK. The chance to play with, and ‘Anya-ise’, everyday toiletry essentials has been the most fun project. I hope it will animate bathrooms and bring smiles to people’s mornings in January, when we all need a lift. Our village wouldn’t be a village without Boots.’

The collection will launch first at Anya Hindmarch’s Village Hall store on Pont Street in London, where it will be available from January 10 until March 8.

After that, it’ll be available to shop online at boots.com from March 8 – but only for a limited time, so you’ll want to be quick.

As for what’s in store? Expect to see some of Boots’ most familiar essentials given a fun new twist. Everyday staples like nail varnish remover, hand sanitiser, toothpaste and beauty blenders have all been reimagined with bold graphics and witty details, proving that even the most practical products can have a bit of personality.

True to form, the collaboration doesn’t stop at toiletries. It wouldn’t be an Anya Hindmarch collaboration without the Universal Bag. This time, it’s been refreshed in Boots’ signature blue and crisp white colour palette. Inside, there are clever nods to the brand’s history, including vintage-style typography, references to classic white pharmacy coats and dispensary-inspired design touches that feel both nostalgic and fresh.

Practical, playful and unmistakably British, the Anya Hindmarch x Boots collaboration is the perfect pick-me-up for the start of the year — and a reminder that even your bathroom cabinet can benefit from a little bit of joy.
