Junior Andre has shared the unexpected job he’s taken up to help fund his music career.

The 20-year-old son of Peter Andre and Katie Price released his debut single Slide in 2022, with the song going viral on TikTok and soon getting the attention of a label, who quickly signed the aspiring musician.

However, he’s not released any music since then, with Junior saying last year he was ‘overcoming a couple of challenges’ but that he would be sharing new tracks ‘in due time’.

But on the latest episode of his younger sister Princess’ ITV2 reality show, The Princess Diaries, Junior spoke about how he’d experienced some obstacles while pursuing a career in music.

While sitting in a studio with his younger sister, 18, Junior said that he’d been working a full-time night-shift job while dealing with ‘differences’ with his record label.

He then went on to share that he’d been working for TFL.

‘It’s been a long time coming, it’s been hard, you know I’ve obviously had to do nine-to-five, Monday to Friday,’ he said.

‘I found a night job basically just working on the London underground, grafting, lifting heavy metals, cutting, filing, painting. I got them jobs so I could do my music career, so I could fund it.’

Sharing her admiration of her older brother, Princess said she was proud of him for chasing his dreams – and funding them himself.

‘His last two singles went in at number one, but while he was sorting differences out with his label he went to work through the nights and work a full-time job, so he was fully self-sufficient. Which I’m super proud of,’ she shared.

Princess also then admitted that she would love to try her hand at releasing music too.

However, after seeing the effort their dad takes with rehearsing and touring, she became aware she needed to ‘get up to scratch’ with singing and dancing lessons.

Peter, 53, rose to fame in the mid-1990s, topping the UK Singles Chart with the songs Flava and I Feel You in 1996.

After appearing on the third season of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2004, he then found renewed popularity when his 1995 song Mysterious Girl reached number 1.

The ITV reality series also saw him meet Katie, 47, who he’d go on to marry in 2005. They later divorced four years later.

Throughout his career, Peter has released 12 studio albums and achieved 15 UK Top 20 hit singles.

His next album, Legacy, is due to be released this year.

Despite his dad’s wealth, Junior also said on his sister’s series that he didn’t want to rely on his parents to fund him.

‘I’ve done night shifts because you have to actually pay to do music. People don’t really know that. I live off myself, I don’t live off mum and dad,’ he said.

‘My love for music is intense; I love performing just like my dad.’

During recent promotion for Princess’ reality show, the siblings have also been asked about their mum’s whirlwind new romance with Dubai-based businessman Lee Andrews, 41.

Just days after meeting him in late January, Katie went on to tie the knot with Lee, in a move that left her family ‘blindsided’.

Last week the former glamour model said she was waiting for the right time to introduce her kids to her new husband, ‘even if it takes a year’.

Soon after Junior said he was ‘confused’, calling the speedy union a ‘bombshell’.

‘At this point, I don’t know what to think. She’s flipping married him,’ he quipped when speaking to The Sun. ‘I don’t know the guy, so it’s shocking. Of course it is. It is weird.’

‘I would have liked to know what’s been going on, what it’s leading up to, but everyone lives their lives and has their own thing,’ he then reasoned.

He also then went on to defend his mum, saying: ‘She’s not a bad person; she’s a great mum. The main thing is if this guy can treat mum respectfully; that’s all I care about.’
