Katie Price is ‘beginning to be convinced’ that she could have made an error tying the knot with new husband Lee Andrews within a week of meeting.
Last week the former glamour model, 47, shocked many when announcing that she was engaged to Dubai based businessman Lee, 41, mere weeks after revealing her split from partner of two years JJ Slater, 33.
However, in the days since, it’s been reported that Lee’s business Aura Group is a farce, while two of his ex’s urged Katie to ‘run for the hills’, alleging Lee was a ‘lying swindler who preys on women’.
These concerns have been compounded by the fact Katie’s own family were ‘blindsided’ by the news of her sudden wedding, and were ‘concerned over how Lee portrays himself online and whether he is who he says he is’.
As the couple settle into wedded life however, Katie is now reportedly concerned that her decision to marry Lee may have been a ‘huge mistake’.
‘Katie has been inundated with direct messages from her new husband’s former girlfriends warning her what he is really like – and pleading with her to dump him,’ a source has told the Daily Mail.
‘He is not a nice man. These women have been doing everything they can to make her see sense. They have no ulterior motive other than to try and stop her going through what they went through. At first, she ignored them and wrote them off as being bitter and jealous.
‘But now she is actually starting to believe the women because they have so much information and details documenting what he did to them. And even though she’s starting to suspect that she’s made a huge mistake by marrying a man she didn’t even know, she’s not admitting it to those closest to her.’
The source added: ‘She is very, very stubborn like that.’
News of Katie’s engagement came out of the blue after she only revealed her break-up from JJ two weeks ago – although she did say they’d ‘split up a few months ago’.
However, JJ’s now hit out at his ex, claiming she drunkenly texted football stars including Jack Grealish and Kyle Walker behind his back while they were on holiday.
He also told The Sun that he suspected Katie was seeing Lee six months ago while they were still together.
Speaking to the publication, JJ says he caught Katie messaging Premier League stars Jack and Kyle while the couple were on holiday with friends in Cyprus in October 2024.
There is no suggestion that either player responded to her texts or behaved inappropriately.
But describing the attempts to reach out as a ‘massive red flag’, JJ explained: ‘We were out at a karaoke bar and having drinks, having fun.
‘The bar closed, so we went home and Kate wanted to carry on drinking or playing drinking games with her friends. I was tired, so I said ‘I’m gonna go to sleep’.
‘Kate went upstairs with her friends. I woke up at like 5-6 am and she wasn’t there.’
He went on to say that after going upstairs to find out where she was, he discovered Katie on her phone ‘messaging the footballers’.
Although JJ said neither responded, the fact she contacted them set off alarm bells for him.
‘Obviously there was a lot of drink involved, so I was able to kind of give the benefit of the doubt and see past that. But in the back of your mind, you’re kind of thinking “I wouldn’t do that”,’ he said.
Everton midfielder Grealish is in a relationship with his childhood sweetheart Sasha Attwood.
However, a few months ago Katie claimed at one of her live shows with ex-Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona that she and the footballer had once kissed.
Explaining his decision to speak out on the end of his relationship with Katie, JJ said that ‘given what’s happened and the lack of respect and her behaviour…I’ve got no real choice but to say my side’.
Challenging Katie’s claims that they also broke up months ago, JJ said their relationship ended less than a month ago.
He went on to say that he was floored after finding out she was engaged ’10 days’ after they split – adding he was suspicious Katie and Lee actually met when she was in Dubai six months ago.
JJ said that she had ‘extended her stay there a couple of times’, then asked for a friend, rather than him, to pick her up from the airport when she returned.
The former Married at First Sight stat said that while that behaviour felt ‘odd’, he had no suspicions someone else might be in the picture.
Since the news of Katie’s engagement and wedding was revealed, JJ claimed her family had ‘apologised and wished me love’, adding they ‘were in the dark as well’.
Despite the whirlwind wedding, it actually turns out it might not even be legally binding though.
A few days ago, celebrant who conducted the ceremony confirmed that it was purely symbolic and was unlikely to carry any legal weight.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, Darryl Rees, a Swansea-born part-time DJ and MC who has been carrying out weddings in Dubai for the past five years, explained: ‘I’m a showman, you have to go to court to have it legalised.’
Rees went on to say that most British couples who marry in Dubai opt for a picturesque ceremony in an exotic location, while handling the less glamorous legal requirements either in a Dubai court or back in a UK register office, either before or after the celebration.
It is currently unclear whether or not Katie and Lee chose to do so.
