The Masked Singer is back – and we’ve had our first reveals of the series!
Tonight, the nation’s favourite guessing game returned to ITV with Joel Dommett as host for its seventh series.
Panellists Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama, and Mo Gilligan were on hand to do their best detective work as they attempted to suss out the identities of each character.
But for two contestants, the game is already up, as they became the first stars to take off their masks – and you won’t believe who was underneath.
First up, none other than Anne-Marie was unveiled as Goldfish, having fronted the show’s first-ever house band, No Trout.
The panel gasped and cheered as the costume was lifted and the pop star was unveiled, later performing her hugely popular single 2002, this time, unmasked.
Only Love Island host Maya was able to correctly identify Anne-Marie, 34, due to a clue referencing her martial arts background.
One of the band members wore black belts across their body, which was a nod to the Rockabye hitmaker being a black belt and former world champion in Shotokan karate.
Later on in tonight’s bumper launch show came another unmasking after all the characters had performed, with the studio audience voting for who they wanted to save.
Unfortunately for Disc Jockey, they failed to get the crowd on side, leading to their elimination – and underneath it was The One Show’s Alex Jones!
It’s safe to say the whole panel was aghast, with even Welsh broadcaster Alex – who sang Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan – admitting: ‘To be honest, I wouldn’t have guessed me!’
The Masked Singer UK returns tomorrow night for its third and fourth reveals in a jam-packed weekend, with this season promising more unmaskings than before.
Following performances from Can of Worms, Gargoyle, Moth, and Sloth tonight, tomorrow will see Arctic Fox, Conkers, Monkey Business, Teabag, Toastie, and Yak take centre stage.
They’ll all be hoping to follow in the footsteps of previous winners and make it all the way to the end by deceiving the panel and studio audience.
Last year’s season was won by West End performer Samantha Barks, who took the crown from 2024 champ Danny Jones. Past winners before them were Charlie Simpson (2023), Natalie Imbruglia (2022), Joss Stone (2021), and, of course, the original victor, Nicola Roberts as Queen Bee in 2020.
The Masked Singer 2026 continues on ITV1 and ITVX.
