The incident took place at approximately 10:45 AM local time on Thursday along Puruatanga Road in Martinborough, located on New Zealand’s North Island.
According to New Zealand Police, they are collaborating with the British High Commission in Wellington as part of their investigation, as reported by Sky News.
Inspector Brad Allen, the Wellington district road policing manager, stated: “The individual who passed away sustained critical injuries and unfortunately succumbed at the scene before any airlift to the hospital could occur.

“Three additional individuals, who were also on the motorcycle, sustained serious injuries.
“The serious crash unit is currently conducting a scene examination, and inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.”
He expressed that the officers’ “thoughts, aroha (the Maori term for love), and condolences are extended to the family and friends of the deceased.”
A representative from the British Foreign Office commented: “Our team in New Zealand has offered guidance on dealing with bereavement abroad following the death of one British citizen and the serious injuries of three others in Martinborough.
“Our thoughts are with the family during this challenging time.”
