Nicole Kidman recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon — where she and the host fell straight back into their flirty ways. For context, the Oscar winner was a guest on the chat show back in 2015, where she admitted she once had a ‘crush’ on the host. The pair then shared the story of when they first met, and both clearly had different versions of how the meet-cute went down. (Picture: Getty Images)
Jimmy recalled that a mutual friend invited Nicole to his apartment to talk business. While telling the story, Nicole interjected, admitting that she liked Jimmy during that time, when she was single. However, this was clearly news to Jimmy, who looked completely perplexed, and asked: ‘Did I date Nicole Kidman? Did we go on a date?’ After learning all those years later that Nicole was into him, she then shared her side of the story — mainly that the ‘date’ didn’t go to plan, to which Jimmy joked that he had no idea it was a personal meeting. She told Jimmy: ‘So I go over there, and you’re there in a baseball cap and nothing, and you wouldn’t talk. You didn’t say anything. And then you put a video game on or something, and I’m like, “This is so bad.” And you didn’t talk at all.’ Nicole continued, recalling that after about an hour and a half in the awkward situation, she thought to herself, “‘He has no interest, this is so embarrassing.” And I left and went, “Okay, no chemistry,” and I went, “Maybe he’s gay.”‘ Jimmy was both speechless and in hysterics, responding to the revelation with: ‘I am in shock right now. I can’t believe I dated Nicole Kidman. This is fantastic.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
Fast-forward to 2026, and, despite their romantic lives going their separate ways, the entertainers still had great banter. Nicole, who is newly single following her divorce from her husband of almost 20 years, Keith Urban, and was there to promote her upcoming Prime Video series Scarpetta, didn’t waste time in reminding Jimmy that it had been ‘four years’ since they had last seen each other. ‘You’ve been busy!” he replied, as Nicole quipped: ‘I’m so happy to be back.’ Jimmy then gushed that he would love Nicole to ‘come back all the time,’ adding: ‘I love having you on!’ (Picture: Getty Images)
Throughout the interview, the pair continued to shower each other with praise. From Jimmy suggesting they go on a Disney cruise together, after Nicole shared her love of cruising, to the actor inviting him to drink midnight margaritas to celebrate the sequel to her cult classic, Practical Magic, it was an interview match made in heaven. Viewers at home thought so too, who flocked to the YouTube comments section to compliment the stars. ‘Who is here coz Nicole and Jimmy?’ one person said, as another joked: ‘I feel like I’m interrupting a date or something.’ Someone else hinted that Nicole is single now (FYI, Jimmy is happily married with two kids to film producer Nancy Juvonen), while a fourth penned: ‘I’m always in for a Jimmy-Nicole date.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
In September last year, Nicole and Keith made headlines when they announced they were divorcing, ending their almost 20-year marriage. Nicole was the one who filed, citing irreconcilable differences. However, Metro also reported that it was Keith who had decided to separate, with Nicole taking care of their daughters and ‘holding the family together’ through the ‘difficult time’. A source told People at the time: ‘She [Nicole] didn’t want this. She has been fighting to save the marriage.’ The former couple first met in January 2005 at the G’Day USA gala in Los Angeles, and tied the knot just over a year later in June 2006. They share two daughters together, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. (Picture: Getty Images)
