One lucky winner scoops £10,600,000 Lotto jackpot

Congratulations are in order as one lucky ticket-holder has just won the Lotto jackpot.

One winner has won Saturday’s draw of the National Lottery Lotto jackpot and claimed a prize of £10,633,323.

The winning Lotto numbers this evening were 06, 08, 12, 33, 49, 59 and the bonus number was 42.

The winner scooped the top prize by matching the six main numbers.

Nobody managed to match five numbers and the bonus ball to win £1million this evening, but 78 players each won £1,750 after matching five numbers.

Tonight’s win means Wednesday’s jackpot will be an estimated £2million.

Elsewhere tonight, the winning Thunderball numbers were 12, 13, 15, 22, 23 and the Thunderball number was 11.

No players matched five numbers and the Thunderball to scoop the £500,000 top prize, but there were three who scooped £5,000 for matching five numbers.

It’s been a lucky couple of days for UK National Lottery players as Friday’s EuroMillions draw saw one ticket-holder take home the £26million jackpot.

In July, a family from Cork won the largest EuroMillions prize in Ireland’s history taking home a massive £216,000,000.

It seems this part of Ireland contains all of the lucky tickets after a family from County Cork bagged £208 million in June.

Of the top five biggest jackpot winners from the UK, the only ones to have revealed their identity are British couple Jess and Joe Thwaite, who scooped €215 million (around £184 million) in May 2022.

They revealed they still went to work on the day they found out and decided to go public so as not to ‘burden’ others with their secret.

Winning such a colossal amount of money seems like a dream come true – and for some it really is.

But, as we explored here, there are many examples of winners whose lives took a turn for the worse after scooping the jackpot.

Of course we don’t want to take pleasure in other people’s misery, but if you’re feeling a little sad that you didn’t win last night’s gigantic sum, bearing that in mind might take the edge off.
