Pakistan to Send Skilled Beauticians to Saudi Arabia Amid Economic Challenges

As part of a broader initiative to increase the export of skilled labor, particularly to Gulf countries, Pakistan is set to send a contingent of beauticians to Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia is already the largest destination for Pakistani workers and the top source of remittances, contributing over $700 million to Pakistan’s economy each month.

According to officials, the selected beauticians will fill roles such as hairdressers, makeup artists, nail technicians, eyelash specialists, waxing and bleaching experts, and wig technicians.

Applicants must be under 40 years old and possess at least three years of experience in the beauty industry, according to Arab News.

Successful candidates will receive a monthly salary of up to 3,000 Saudi Riyals (approximately $800), along with free shared accommodation, meals or a food allowance, and round-trip airfare. Transportation within Saudi Arabia will also be provided as needed.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have long-established ties in various sectors, including labor, defense, and culture. Approximately 2.7 million Pakistanis currently live and work in Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan’s overseas workforce plays a crucial role in its economy, particularly as the country navigates ongoing financial challenges. Remittances from overseas workers are a vital source of foreign exchange.
