A ‘ridiculously underrated’ police procedural drama has left fans ecstatic after being added to Netflix.

Southland, which was originally broadcast between 2009 and 2013, followed the lives of officers in the Los Angeles Police Department working to fight crime.

Created by Emmy Award-winning writer Ann Biderman and starring Michael Cudlitz (John Cooper), Ben McKenzie (Ben Sherman) and Regina King (Lydia Adams), the two final seasons of the show secured a rare 100% rating on Rotten Tomatotes.

Following its cancellation, fans were left ‘devastated’ as they praised the ‘staggeringly good show’.

Now, however, after the show’s addition to Netflix, where it has climbed the top 10 rankings, viewers cannot wait to binge all five seasons of what they have described as the ‘most accurate depiction of policing in television’.

The show’s new found success on Netflix comes after it was revealed that millions of users on the streaming platform will lose access.

Netflix is no longer compatible with an estimated 87 million devices as of Monday March 2, it’s been claimed.

The change has affected those who use Sony’s PlayStation 3 (PS3) to watch their favourite programmes.
