Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) and Julie Bates (Karen Henthorn) urge Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) to make a big decision in EastEnders next week.
It all kicks off on the day of Jonno Highway’s (Richard Graham) funeral, and Kathy decides that his son Callum (Tony Clay) could do with some extra support.
As viewers know, father and son were estranged as a result of Jonno’s vile, homophobic behaviour, and upon his brief return, it became clear that he wasn’t a changed man.
In fact, in his dying moments, he continued to spout hatred towards Callum, something which his lover Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) initially kept from him.
The truth has broken Callum, and the weight of his secret relationship with Johnny is taking its toll.
After all, Phil was less than impressed to hear about his son-in-law’s infidelity, and undoubtedly won’t want to be showing his support on the day of Jonno’s memorial.

As such, Callum has warned Johnny against attending – he doesn’t want to raise anymore suspicion with the Mitchell clan. Nevertheless, the pair share a kiss and are blissfully unaware that Kathy has seen them.
She gathers the Mitchells together and tells them about the shocking smooch, and everyone is furious at Callum’s deceit.
They’re not going to let this one lie!
As he prepares to head to the funeral, Phil, Kathy, Billy and Honey Mitchell (Perry Fenwick and Emma Barton), Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) decide to confront him, but they’re not prepared for the home truths that he hits back with.
Backtracking on his earlier decision, Callum reaffirms his affection for Johnny and asks him to be in attendance.
The Mitchells come to the conclusion that they’re better off keeping the news from Ben (Max Bowden) and Lexi (Isabella Brown) until after the funeral, but the revalation could come out a lot sooner…
Ben has arrived for the burial!

Callum is, naturally, shocked to see his husband after so long. Johnny is a bag of nerves, concerned that the truth could be outed.
Meanwhile, Phil and Kathy are thrilled to see their son, as he explains that he’s now locked up in a British prison having grassed on a cellmate in the US.
The two are distracted by Callum’s affair, and know that they should do the right thing and tell him.
But will Callum get the opportunity before them?
The next day, Kathy and Julie have words with Phil, encouraging him to pay Ben a visit before heading to the airport.
Will father and son have a tell-all heart to heart?
