PinkPantheress has announced she won’t be making it to the Brits, hours before it is due to start.

The artist made history when she was announced as producer of the year by the Brit Awards earlier this week.

She became the first woman and the youngest ever recipient to be given the prize since it was created in 1977.

The 24-year-old is also nominated for two further awards for best artist of the year and best dance act.

However, it has now been revealed that she won’t be in attendance.

Writing on her Instagram story, she wrote: ‘Devastated to say I won’t be able to make it to the Brits tonight.

‘But so grateful for all the love on the award. Good luck to the nominees!!’

Earlier today it was reported that the singer had two seats reserved at the ceremony, one for herself, and one for her handbag.

She was also revealed as an announcer on the trams in Manchester, while the city hosts the prestigious ceremony.

Metro has contacted PinkPantheress for comment.
