It seems we finally know how Princess and Junior Andre found out about their mum Katie Price’s new relationship.
Earlier this year, the former glamour model, 47, took everyone by surprise by announcing she was engaged to businessman Lee Andrews, 41, having met him just two days earlier in Dubai.
And before anyone had time to wrap their heads around that bombshell, Katie and Lee were married, tying the knot that same week in a quickie ceremony.
It has been widely reported that Katie’s family is deeply concerned by how fast the romance is moving, especially while Lee’s exes are urging Katie to ‘run for the hills’ and question marks remain over his career.
What’s more, Katie’s kids have yet to meet Lee, who has denied that a past prison stint resulted in him being ‘banned’ from leaving the country and joining her in the UK on the two occasions she has flown back.
Now, middle children Princess, 18, and Junior, 20, have offered some insight into how Katie informed them that she was to marry for the fourth time – and she did it over text.
Speaking to The Sun, the siblings, whose father is Katie’s first ex-husband, Peter Andre, 52, revealed a message in their WhatsApp group chat rendered them ‘shell-shocked.’
‘The message Mum sent on the group chat about being engaged… I literally responded, “OMG”,’ Princess said.
‘Mum’s very impulsive, but that is impulse on a whole other level.’
As for what she knows about Lee, who has lived in Dubai for over 20 years and claims to be a multi-millionaire, the beauty influencer said she ‘doesn’t know anything.’
‘All I know is he proposed to my mum after knowing her a week.’
As for how he reacted to Katie’s message, musician Junior revealed that he wrote: ‘I’m so confused. What a bombshell.’
‘At this point, I don’t know what to think. She’s flipping married him,’ he quipped.
‘I don’t know the guy, so it’s shocking. Of course it is. It is weird.’
The singer added that, naturally, since his mum agreed to marry someone he ‘doesn’t know,’ he was bound to be taken aback.
‘I would have liked to know what’s been going on, what’s it’s leading up to, but everyone lives their lives and has their own thing,’ he then reasoned.
Neither will hear a bad word said about their mum, though, with Junior insisting that she’s ‘not a bad person; she’s a great mum.’
‘The main thing is if this guy can treat mum respectfully; that’s all I care about,’ he added sweetly.
At this point in their lives, Princess and Junior are pretty used to chaos, with their mum having been engaged nine times and divorced three, not to mention her past bankruptcy woes, ever-evolving appearance thanks to various surgeries, and outspoken tendencies.
Despite knowing she is ‘crazy,’ they’re aware that now, that’s just how their mum is.
‘Now we’re older, we can actually just talk about it, and we can discuss how we feel,’ Princess explained, adding that she and older brother Junior feel ‘trauma-bonded’ after all they’ve endured as youngsters in the public eye.
‘We’ve grown up in a lot of difficult situations, and we’ve always been there for each other in that sense.’
Their famous parents, who split in 2009 after five years of marriage, recently issued an unexpected joint statement, saying they wish to cease any negative chatter against one another.
Posted on social media, the statement said they ‘have decided to close the door on the past and move forward into a new chapter with positivity and respect.’
Meanwhile, Princess and Junior’s latest interview comes after they appeared on This Morning to promote the second series of Princess’s ITV2 reality show, The Princess Diaries.
Asked by hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley what they make of the new man in their mum’s life, Junior replied: ‘Our mum is her own person; she’s her own woman, she’s going to do what she’s going to do, and at the end of the day, we’re supportive of her as long as she’s happy. As long as she’s happy that’s all I care about.’
Princess echoed: ‘If she’s happy, we’re happy.’
Indeed, reality TV queen Katie has insisted she is, in fact, very happy, recently declaring herself ‘smitten’ with Lee.
Chatting on the red carpet at the Gossies in Dublin, Katie told a reporter: ‘I’m smitten, I’m ecstatic, and I’m in love.
‘There was no stress [with the wedding]; I like stress.’
Katie also denied being pregnant, despite teasing a baby announcement several times on Instagram while in Dubai for her honeymoon, imploring fans to pay £2.99 to subscribe to her exclusive page to find out the truth.
But while she might not be expecting again just yet, she has made it perfectly clear that she wants a child with Lee.
Hitting back at Alana Percival, one of Lee’s exes who accused him of trying to scam her, a defiant Katie claimed they are ‘building an empire,’ calling herself the ‘real woman he has found and deserves,’ and saying ‘one day,’ she will be pregnant by him.
She went to call Alana ‘bitter’ for ‘lying’ about Lee’s history, but uncertainties remain around his so-called successful entrepreneurship, which has seen him promote his company using fake AI images.
He is listed as the CEO of Aura Group and an ‘investor in SpaceX Hybrid Fitness.’
