Strictly Come Dancing stars Dianne Buswell and partner Joe Sugg have pushed back against a fake AI image circulating of them with their not-yet-born baby.

The pair, who first met as dance partners on the BBC reality series in 2018 and have been together ever since, announced in September that they were expecting their first child together – a baby boy.

Since then, the expectant parents have been documenting the Aussie dancer’s pregnancy journey, including her history-making stint on Strictly with partner Stefan Dennis.

Last night, however, influencer and dad-to-be Joe took to social media to share a concerning image making the rounds that caused his friends and family to think that Dianne, 36, had given birth without telling them.

He said: ‘I woke up this morning to loads of family and friends messaging me, being like “oh, congrats on the news, we thought you’d tell us first before it was on the internet.’

Stepping to the side, he pointed to an AI image behind him of a slightly morphed Joe and Dianne posing with a fake baby.

The 34-year-old media personality continued: ‘This is AI. Look, that’s not me. I don’t know who that is, but it’s not me. I mean, I’d take it, I’d quite like to look like that to be honest, but that’s not me, that’s not my chin, that’s not my hair, unfortunately.’

Then, as he moved further over, a ‘still very much pregnant’ Dianne entered the frame underneath the AI version of herself.

‘That’s not Dianne, that’s not our baby, although I do hope he’s that cute… he’s not here. ‘AI, it’s getting scary,’ he concluded with a concerned look on his face.

In the caption, he doubled down: ‘I worry for the Facebook generation sometimes with all this AI malarkey.’

Dianne’s Strictly co-stars joined in on the baffled amusement in the comments, with Gorka Marquez quipping: ‘Is okey guys according to AI news we are pregnant again and got married last week in secret wedding.’

Vito Coppola simply commented a string of laughing emojis.

Fans shared their shock at the image as well, with phi.rex commenting: ‘It’s so weird that someone even thought to make this picture in the first place’

‘You’ve had 3 babies in the past week according to Facebook!’ dreamydianne added.

‘People would do anything for a like and view honestly it’s so weird,’ iamleahbell said.

It’s not the first time the couple have had to have a word with intrusive fans. During Dianne’s time on Strictly, she was forced to address people judging her decision to go ahead with the dance competition.

Some viewers even accused the show of a ‘cover-up’ when Neighbours star Stefan had to drop out due to an injury.

As for the baby himself, in October, Joe teased that they had come up with a unique name for the tot.

‘We can’t really give any clues to it other than I don’t really see this name really anywhere.

‘‘I know some people who have it as their surname but it’s also the sort of name that can be shortened. I’d say it’s quite a unique name,’ he said at the time.
