The government of Sudan announced on Monday that it would permit aid organizations to utilize the Adre border crossing for an additional three months starting February 16.

Last year, the government imposed restrictions on the crossing, which is vital for delivering aid to famine-affected areas in the Darfur region, claiming that the opposing Rapid Support Forces were using it to move weapons, a statement the forces refuted.
