A teenage girl rushed to hospital following an incident on the M6 motorway is believed to have fallen from the back of an ambulance.
Fortunately, she seems to have avoided serious injury in the mishap by the in Lancashire yesterday evening.
But the southbound M55 slip road was closed leaving motorists facing delays of up to two hours while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
A spokesperson for LancashirePolice said: ‘At 5.17pm on Tuesday, January 6, we received a report that a teenage girl had fallen from the back of an ambulance on the M6 southbound to M55 slip road.
‘She has been taken to hospital but is thankfully not thought to have suffered any serious injuries.

‘The motorway was closed for a short period and has now fully reopened.’
The force first reported they were called to a road traffic collision and told the driver the motorway would be ‘closed for some time’.
Metro has contacted the North West Ambulance Service for comment.
Later today, a pre-inquest review hearing is listed in relation to the death of a teenage girl who was hit by a car on the motorway after getting out of a police car.
Tamzin Hall, 17, died as she was being taken to a custody suite in Bridgwater by two officers in an Avon and Somerset Police car in November last year.
