9. Overboard – 3,500,000 views

Film, 'Overboard' (2018) Anna Faris and Eva Longoria.
Next up is this 2018 romcom which has ‘ideal Valentine’s viewing’ written all over it. Overboard is a present-day, role-reversal reboot of a 1987 comedy starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, with Anna Faris as a single mum who takes a job cleaning carpets for spoiled playboy Leo (Eugenio Derbez). However, when he falls from his yacht and wakes up with amnesia, and no memory of his wealthy life, she manages to convince him they’re actually husband and wife. All manner of mayhem ensues, and while, like the original, it’s pretty predictable, it’s still an engaging enough watch. (Picture: Diyah Pera)

Speeding in at number eight is this action thriller from Taiwan, which takes the whole ‘out of control mass transit’ trope and puts a fresh spin on it. 96 Minutes sees a bomb expert and his fiancee boarding a train rigged with explosives, leading to a race against time to defuse the bomb and save the passengers. A scandal-plagued physics teacher who’s desperate to reconcile with his wife is among the others on board. (Picture: Netflix)

Liam Neeson is no stranger to the whole action thriller thing, and here he is again in a 2023 effort, set in 1974 during the Troubles. The Naked Gun star plays Finbar Murphy, a former hitman who now lives a quiet life in a small town, and is hoping to put his past behind him. However, when terrorists show up on the run from the law, sparking a terrifying game of cat and mouse, he’s faced with the choice of leaving his friends and neighbours in danger or exposing who he really is. 5. KPop Demon Hunters – 6,100,000 views

KPOP DEMON HUNTERS - When they aren't selling out stadiums, Kpop superstars Rumi, Mira and Zoey use their secret identities as badass demon hunters to protect their fans from an ever-present supernatural threat. Together, they must face their biggest enemy yet ??? an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise. ??2025 Netflix
It might be clinging on to the outer vestiges of the top five, but after 34 weeks on the chart we have concluded that KPop Demon Hunters might just be in the charts forever. Seriously. Just in case you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past eight and a bit months, the movie follows the fictional K-pop band Huntr/x, who, by day, sell out stadiums and perform in front of their millions of fans. But by night, they’re demon hunters who save the world from supernatural danger – with their powers coming in handy when a mysterious new boyband appears on the scene. Is there really anyone left who hasn’t seen it yet? Somehow we doubt it. (Picture: NETFLIX)

Having got 2026 off to a flying start with some huge viewing figures, this Matt Damon/Ben Affleck action thriller has relinquished the top spot – but it’s still on track to become one of the biggest movies of the year. The film, based on a true story, sees Damon and Affleck playing Miami cops who are part of a team that discovers a stash of what appears to be $20million in a safehouse. They have to count the money before they can leave the scene, but also have to survive the night as suspicion sets in. (Picture: Claire Folger/Netflix)

3. Even If This Love Disappears Tonight – 7,800,000 views

Handout film sstill: Even If This Love Disappears Tonight
OK, so it’s not all car chases, bomb-laden trains and supernatural shocks in the Netflix chart this week. Here’s another one guaranteed to appeal to romantics everywhere. Based on the Japanese novel Even If This Love Disappears From The World Tonight, it tells the story of a high school girl who wakes up each day with no memory of the day before – something which proves quite the challenge when she agrees to date a shy classmate. While it might invite a few comparisons to the Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore comedy 50 First Dates, this one’s way more heart-wrenching. You have been warned. (Picture: Netflix)

2. Dhurandhar – 8,200,000 views

Dhurandhar
This muscular Hindi-language action thriller is continuing to prove popular, actually increasing its viewing figures in its second week on the chart and flying up to the runners-up spot. The film is led by Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, best known for Uri. It leans hard into espionage, violence and high national security stakes. With slick set pieces and a story built around power and betrayal, not to mention a weighty running time of 3hrs 32 minutes – this is the true definition of epic. (Picture: Netflix)

1. The Investigation of Lucy Letby – 12,900,000 views

Entering the charts at number one is Netflix’s latest plunge into the murky waters of true crime – this time focusing on the case of Lucy Letby. The former neonatal nurse was found guilty in 2023 of murdering seven infants and attempting to kill seven more between June 2015 and June 2016 at the Countess of Chester Hospital. As online discourse over the verdict continues to divide people, the documentary examines the case via unseen footage and unheard insider accounts. The film might have sparked controversy – from its use of AI to disguise the identity of some interviewees through to her parents blasting the film as a ‘complete invasion of privacy’ – but that hasn’t kept viewers away.
