Following a chaotic semi-final, The Masked Singer UK has eliminated another two celebrities in an elimination double whammy.
Now, the identities of Sloth and Can of Worms have been revealed.
Tonight, Moth, Can of Worms, Conkers, Toastie, and Sloth all performed for the panel of Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama, and Mo Gilligan, who were joined by guest star Katherine Ryan.
But despite everyone’s best efforts, only three could make it through to next week’s big final.
First to take off their mask was Sloth, who turned out to be adventurer and presenter Ben Fogle!
‘We were never getting that,’ declared Mo, to which host Joel Dommett told him: ‘Not even close!’
Guesses from the panel included Jack Whitehall, Martin Lewis, Spencer Matthews, and Shane Richie, all of whom were miles away from being correct.
Clues pointing towards Ben’s identity included an SW1A postcode, as he was born in central London, while images of fish were simply a nod to him fishing in the wilderness.
A ‘Reserved’ sign in navy blue was a clue about Ben being a reserve in the Royal Navy, an ice lolly with a bite mark referenced him getting frostbite while racing to the South Pole in 2008, and ‘Explosive moves might leave you breathless’ was a nod to his oxygen tank exploding on Mount Everest.
Speaking after his reveal, the writer and broadcaster, 52, said he wanted to do the show to defy ‘stereotypes’ about what people ‘can and can’t do’, as we shouldn’t have to ‘stay in our lanes’.
‘You reach a point in life where you can’t take yourself too seriously,’ he said proudly, stating that he was performing for ‘everyone who has an inner Sloth waiting to leap out’.
Shortly after Ben’s reveal, it was Can of Worms’ turn to be unmasked, having narrowly missed out on a spot in the top 3 – and it was Marvin Humes of JLS all along!
Guesses from the panel included Rami Malek, Craig David, and fellow JLS star JB Gill, thanks to all the farming hints.
As for Marvin’s clues, the radio presenter, 40, made a reference to having green fingers, as that was his assigned colour in the pop band.
‘You only want to be the one shining like diamonds,’ was a reference to JLS performing at the Diamond Jubilee, while ‘dipping fingers low in the soil’ was a nod to him DJing alongside Diplo.
Speaking in a post-unmasking Q&A, Marvin revealed that only his eldest daughter knew of his Masked Singer stint, so it’ll be a surprise for the other two.
The X Factor 2008 runner-up added that it felt ‘really strange’ to sing by himself, as he’s always performed with bandmates JB, Aston Merrygold, and Oritsé Williams.
‘I’m used to being with three other guys on stage, and that’s quite a comfort. A bit of security,’ he admitted. ‘Although I’m completely masked, it’s still been quite strange being out on my own singing. Which I’ve enjoyed, and even when the mask came off, I fully enjoyed it.
‘So for me, it was nice doing something by myself where singing was concerned. When the band [JLS] finished, I didn’t really do any solo music that way, so yeah, it’s been really cool.’
Next weekend, the finalists will perform for the last time and throw out all their remaining clues, hoping to take the title from 2025 champ Samantha Barks (aka Pufferfish) and be crowned the series winner.
It’s been a very eventful season thus far, with shocking reveals pretty much each weekend.
We started off with Anne-Marie being unmasked as Goldfish and Matt Lucas as Emperor Penguin, as the pop star and comedian fronted the show’s first-ever house bands before joining the panel.
As the eliminations kicked off, The One Show broadcaster Alex Jones was first unmasked as Disc Jockey, even though she fooled everyone and avoided her name being guessed.
The following week, rapper Professor Green lifted off Teabag’s costume, while the third episode saw Sex Pistols icon John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten, unmasked as Yak.
Another music legend, American singer-songwriter Marcella Detroit, was then unveiled as Gargoyle, before both Monkey Business and Arctic Fox took off their masks in a double departure.
Monkey Business also had us all flummoxed, but it turned out Foundations hitmaker Kate Nash was behind the sassy costume the whole time, while Strictly legend Anton Du Beke had been performing in Arctic Fox’s heeled boots.
Finally, last weekend, comedian Harry Hill was eliminated as the adorable Red Panda, having finally decided to take part in the show after years of viewers being certain he was behind various characters.
‘I’d like to apologise to Alan Carr,’ the TV Burp icon joked after his reveal, having imitated the Chatty Man’s distinctive voice to throw everyone off the scent.
So, next Saturday night is the big one – who will win The Masked Singer UK 2026? Will it be Moth, Conkers, or Toastie?
The Masked Singer final airs next Saturday on ITV1 and ITVX.
