It hasn’t taken long for This Morning viewers to start asking questions about Cat Deeley’s absence from the ITV programme this week
The response online has, understandably, been, ‘Where is Cat?’, as Ben Shephard has been joined by a rotation of hosts in the meantime.
The daytime show hasn’t provided any official explanation for Deeley’s disappearing act, but Shephard told viewers on Tuesday: ‘Cat’s away, so I get a little playdate with Angela [Scanlon] for a few days,’ as the TV presenter joined him on the sofa.
Meanwhile, Deeley, 49, has been posting on her Instagram account from a snowy location where she appears to be on holiday.
But the lack of information on her absence has confused viewers, with some fearing she might have quietly exited the show.
Taking to X, one viewer wrote: ‘Unsure what’s going on, but whatever reason that Cat’s not on this week has clearly caught them on the hop – made all a bit weirder when you look at her Instagram and there images of her seemingly out wining and dining the last few days.’
As Alison Hammond stepped into Deeley’s shoes on Thursday morning, another viewer tweeted: ‘Cat off again?’
But Metro understands that Cat is off This Morning this week due to pre-planned leave.
So Deeley, who started hosting the show alongside Shephard in 2024, will no doubt be back soon.
It comes after This Morning last week drew headlines over Hammond’s ‘weird comment’ about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest while hosting alongside Dermot O’Leary.
The show was on air as news broke that the disgraced former royal had been arrested at his Sandringham home.
While discussing the latest development in the twisted saga of Mountbatten-Windsor’s fall from grace, the former Big Brother star briefly mentioned how the police’s decision to arrest Andrew was unprecedented.
However, she then added how surprised she was that the police had made their arrest on Andrew’s 66th birthday.
‘Surely, they could’ve done it yesterday, the day before his birthday,’ the 51-year-old said.
Her comment was quickly picked up by bemused viewers who took to social media to question her words.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
