The magic is in the foam. Unlike memory foam, which traps heat, Simba’s new topper is made from a material it calls Simbatex, which allows five times more airflow to pass through.

It starts from £149 for a single size and goes up to £299 for a superking – which isn’t cheap, but is the most affordable mattress topper Simba has made.
For comparison, its luxurious Hybrid Topper is £499 for a superking size.
The new Cool Foam Mattress Topper also has a foam base that, from afar, looks like an egg crate with round dips all over. Beyond just looking a bit funky, they are engineered to improve airflow, so the surface stays cool and fresh throughout the night.
It’s thick too, adding 6.4cm of extra plushness to your bed, which is especially handy if you don’t have the budget to invest in an entire new mattress.
Super-soft, too, it comes with a knitted cover that’s easy to keep clean – simply chuck it in the washing machine at 40 degrees Celsius.
Like its other mattress toppers, this new Cool Foam Mattress Topper from Simba has elastic straps to hook around your mattress so it won’t budge, no matter how restless a sleeper you are. It’s also got the finishing touch of a slip-limiting base, so it won’t slide around on bed slats either.
