President Donald Trump made his case for attacking Iran in his first nationwide address more than a month into the war, insisting the United States was close to victory as his approval rating sinks. In an evening speech from the White House, Trump broke little new ground on how the war would end and vowed two to three weeks further of "extremely hard" strikes against Iran. Donald Trump has warned the ‘crazy b******s’ in Iran to open up the Strait of Hormuz or else in a foul-mouthed social media post.

The US President posted on Truth Social: ‘Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran.

‘There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F*****’ Strait, you crazy b******s, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP’.

The wild post came after Iran showed no signs of capitulating, striking oil fields and other economic and infrastructure targets in neighbouring Gulf countries.

The UK government is now prepared for a worst-case scenario if the Strait isn’t opened, with the UK having crude oil stocks and refineries that can run without imports.

US-Israeli strikes have already destroyed Iran’s tallest bridge, which links Iran’s capital with the western city of Karaj after Trump said he wanted to take the nation ‘back to the Stone Age’.

The United States announced it had launched a daring rescue mission to find an airman missing behind enemy lines. He spent more than 24 hours hiding in the mountains armed with just a pistol after his F-15E Strike Eagle was shot down on Friday.

Iran had promised a reward for anyone who turned in the ‘enemy pilot’ as hundreds of gun-toting soldiers hunted him down.

This handout photo provided by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) official website Sepah News on April 5, 2026 reportedly shows the wreckage and remains of targeted and crashed aircraft in central Iran. Iran's Revolutionary Guards said a US aircraft that had been searching for the crew member of a missing US fighter jet had been destroyed, Iranian media reported on April 5. US President Donald Trump said earlier that the second crew member from the American fighter jet that crashed inside Iran was "SAFE and SOUND" following a search and rescue operation. On Sunday, after the extraction, Trump said he was injured but in stable condition.

‘This brave Warrior was behind enemy lines in the treacherous mountains of Iran, being hunted down by our enemies, who were getting closer and closer by the hour,’ Trump wrote on social media.

Trump said the crew member, a ‘highly respected colonel’, is ‘seriously wounded’, and planned to release an update on Monday.

‘This type of raid is seldom attempted because of the danger to ‘man and equipment,’ he said.

‘It just doesn’t happen! The second raid came after the first one, where we rescued the pilot in broad daylight, also unusual, spending seven hours over Iran,’ he continued.
