TV viewers have been left cringing after a ‘poorly aged’ question about Peter Mandelson was spotted on an old episode of The Chase.

After watching episode 66 of the ITV series that aired on October 26, 2015, in series nine, one eagle-eyed observer spotted the question mentioning Mandelson’s name on Challenge TV.

The question in full read: ‘In 1996, who said “My project will be complete when the Labour Party learns to love Peter Mandelson?”‘

Answering correctly with Tony Blair out of the two other choices of Gordon Brown and John Major, chaser Shaun Wallace locked in the right option.

Posting a screenshot of the episode on X, Toby Tarrant wrote: ‘Unfortunate day to play this old episode on Challenge.’

Reacting underneath, James said: ‘Someone in scheduling has played a blinder there,’ as Emma called it ‘hilarious’.

Jackson Macmanus also wrote: ‘I’m sure challenge deliberately put that episode on.’

Meanwhile, Ray added: ‘Perfect timing. Serendipity,’ as Holly said: ‘Ouch! Show me something that didn’t age well without saying it didn’t age well.’

Earlier today, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer apologised to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein for having believed the ‘lies’ of the paedophile’s friend Mandelson before appointing him as ambassador to the US.

Over the past week, the full extent of Mandelson’s relationship with the convicted sex offender emerged from files.

Included was a picture of him in his underwear, reportedly in Epstein’s Paris flat.

There was also a series of payments apparently made from the Epstein’s account to Mandelson and his husband Reinaldo Avila da Silva, some of which the Labour peer says he has no knowledge of.

On top of this, even more sinister allegations emerged as some messages appeared to show the then-business secretary Mandelson passing Epstein sensitive information about government discussions at the height of the financial crash.
