Two runners tragically passed away during a half-marathon in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on Sunday, according to event organizers.
Akkoyan Rsaliyev, aged 84, collapsed at the beginning of the race, while 21-year-old Akhmadi succumbed after completing approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles).
Both individuals were seasoned participants in long-distance running competitions.

In a statement, the organizers expressed their condolences, saying, “The corporate foundation ‘Courage to be the First’ extends its sympathies to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives.”
