A travel firm offering packages and tours across Asian destinations including Thailand, China, India, Japan and Singapore has closed down, leaving customers with no flights and cancelled holidays.
Originally known as Haivenu Tours, with offices in Vietnam, Asiara expanded into the UK market in 2022 operating as Asiara Holidays.
However, after filing to be struck off the Companies House register in October last year, it was officially dissolved on January 13.
And according to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), as of January 21, the Ipswich-based business has now ceased trading as an ATOL holder.
All tours and flights with Asiara UK have been cancelled as a result, with customers being issued refunds through ATOL and Protected Trust Services (PTS) — although its website appears to still be operational.
Affected Brits requiring assistance regarding their booking have been advised to ‘contact PTS directly by emailing emma.collis@protectedtrustservices.com.’

The latest in a series of closures
Asiara is far from the only travel company to close its doors recently; already in 2026, Regen Central Ltd, Gold Crest Holidays and Simply Florida Travel Ltd have ceased trading.
These follow a series of collapses in the industry throughout 2025, most notably Ickenham Travel Group Ltd, Great Little Escapes LLP and Jetline Travel Ltd.
It’s not just UK companies, either. Smaller global agencies including Budapest-based Unitravel Kft, Canadian Vegas Vacations and Icelandic Tango Travel also went into liquidation last year, due to major partners going bankrupt or larger foreign companies infiltrating local markets.
Your rights if a company cancels your package holiday
According to Citizens Advice, you’re entitled to a full refund if the company cancels your holiday.
This is due to ATOL (which stands for Air Travel Organisers Licensing), which offers financial protection to customers booking a package holiday which includes a flight.
Through ATOL protection, you’ll get a refund for the package itself, but it won’t cover any other elements booked separately, such as car hire. And while it may also be able to find another operator to take over your trip, Money Saving Expert says this is ‘rare and not guaranteed.’
‘If you are due to travel on an ATOL protected trip and your travel company has ceased as an ATOL holder, we will offer advice on what steps to take,’ the CAA scheme’s website explains.
‘We’ll let you know how to claim an ATOL refund. Our advice will often be either not to travel or, if you are in possession of flight tickets issued by the airline and they have confirmed they are valid, you can travel but you may need to pay for the cost of replacement services and then claim for these.’
