North Korea is supplying 50% of the ammunition required by Russia for its military operations in Ukraine, as stated by Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, on Sunday.
According to assessments from Ukrainian, U.S., and South Korean sources, North Korea has sent thousands of troops to assist Russian forces, marking its first significant military engagement since the 1950s.
During a press briefing, Budanov revealed that North Korea has initiated large-scale deliveries of 170-mm self-propelled howitzers and 240-mm multiple rocket launch systems to Russia.
Additionally, North Korea has already provided ballistic missiles to Russia and plans to deliver 148 more by 2025, he noted.
Oleh Ivashchenko, Ukraine’s foreign intelligence chief, mentioned that Russia aims to manufacture over 7 million artillery and mortar shells in 2025.
“Russia… recognizes that its production capacity exceeds that of all European nations combined,” he remarked.
