‘Alien.gov’ could soon be an official US government website domain.

The Executive Office of the President – the agencies that support Donald Trump – registered it at around 6.35am yesterday, according to a Bluesky bot that tracks government domain changes.

The website is not active and does not display any content.

Asked about what the site will be used for, White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly told Metro today: ‘Stay tuned! 👽’

Yes, she really did use an alien emoji.

Public federal registry data show the registration was handled through the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, which oversees federal .gov domains on behalf of government officials.

All other information on the record is ‘REDACTED FOR PRIVACY’.

‘Disclosure is coming soon – the real question is, are we ready?’

The domain registration came a month after Donald Trump said he would declassify files related to otherworldly life.

UFO expert Mark Christopher Lee said he received a tip from a Washington insider that the Trump administration would unseal the files this year.

Lee said the president’s office picking up the aliens.gov domain is ‘wild timing’ considering this.

‘This feels like the first concrete step toward actual disclosure dropping any day now,’ he tells Metro.

‘As someone who’s been deep in this space for years, I’m calling it exactly what it is: disclosure is coming soon – the real question is, are we ready?’

The UFO Disclosure and How to Survive It author says that he hopes that if Trump makes a speech during this, he says: ‘We are not alone.’

‘However, the sceptic in me says it may just be a massive file dump of UFO files that go nowhere and say nothing,’ he adds.

Aliens and UFOs – now often called unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) – have been on Trump’s mind a lot recently.

Trump said he is directing government officials to declassify top-secret files related to extraterrestrials, ‘UFOs, UAPs, and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters’.

‘GOD BLESS AMERICA!’ he added on Truth Social.

Trump has already declassified files relating to Jeffrey Epstein and John F Kennedy, two people whose deaths have fuelled countless conspiracies.

Trump posted this only hours after criticising former US President Barack Obama casually mentioning on a podcast that ‘aliens exist’.

The Republican told a reporter on Air Force One: ‘Well, he gave classified information, he’s not supposed to be doing that.’

Trump added: ‘I don’t know if they’re real or not, I can tell you he gave classified information, he’s not supposed to be doing that. He made a big mistake; he took it out of classified information.

‘No, I don’t have an opinion on it. I never talk about it. A lot of people do. A lot of people believe it.’

Congress has meanwhile held several hearings on UFOs in recent years.

Pentagon officials testified under oath in 2022 about military reports on unexplained phenomena, saying they had not collected alien materials.

At one point, lawmakers were shown a split-second image, shot last year through the window of an FA-18 fighter jet, of a sphere in the distance.

The sight has never been fully explained.

Officials also played a video of flowing green triangles zipping in the sky above the West Coast in 2019.
