March sparks an unmistakable shift in the air — spring is the season of awakening and fertility and growth, so we return to life, in all its guises.
The month begins in reflective Pisces season, asking us to tie up emotional loose ends and listen to our intuition, before the Spring Equinox ushers in Aries season and a surge of courage, clarity and forward motion.
This time of year is known as Astrological New Year; a perfect time for resolutions and goal-setting. With Mercury turning direct mid-month, plans regain traction, conversations unblock and confidence returns.
Think endings, awakenings, and brave new beginnings — with the tarot (specifically my new Light In The Dark Tarot and Oracle deck, which you can buy here) guiding the way.

Aries
March 21 to April 20
Tarot cards for Aries for March: Six of Wands, King of Coins, Nine of Sword
Meaning: A practical step that you take to address a lingering worry or fear actually turns out to be a master-stroke and not only addresses the issue but creates a new opportunity altogether that you did not expect. A welcome surprise!
The Nine of Swords sees you turning to face a fear, talking about it, expressing it, and by doing so being able to see it clearly and in perspective. The step you should take here becomes obvious and you make it.
The Six of Wands sweeps up this brave move and adds fairy dust to turn it into something positive, magical and lucky. Suddenly, you have a whole new raft of options and it feels great.
The King of Coins means this is likely linked to health, wealth, work or home, and that what you have put in motion now will become extremely successful and reap many rewards for years to come. So, run towards your issues. Your future success lies tangled within them.

Taurus
April 21 to May 21
Tarot cards for Taurus for March: Five of Cups, Seven of Swords, Three of Cups
Meaning: There are two things you need to wash right out of your hair, as the saying went, this March. The first thing is the Five of Cups which is a regret or sorrow that you’ve been nursing for longer than maybe it warranted. As soon as you’ve got something, or someone, else to focus on then all of this will be forgotten.
The second thing is the Seven of Swords, which is a connection, role or relationship to something or someone which doesn’t have wholesome or wholly positive intentions for you. And you can sense it. It feels ‘off’. Move away from these two things and the good times will return.
The Three of Cups brings back joy, friendship, opportunity and celebration. You have been unconsciously blocked by the presence of these two lingering emotions and energies. So, cleanse and purge and move on towards happiness.

Gemini
May 22 to June 21
Tarot cards for Gemini for March: Nine of Coins, Knight of Cups, The Magician
Meaning: March brings renewal and rebirth across many areas of your life, a return to vitality and clarity, both knowing and being motivated to do what you truly, deeply, passionately want to do. March will feel great.
The Magician is the spark of creativity and confidence that unlocks the pathway to successful, fulfilling ideas and opportunities. Be creative. Pour forth new thoughts and insights, collaborate, create, invent, pitch, and innovate.
The Nine of Coins is you laying down robust and prospering foundations across your health, wealth, work and home realms — making repairs, investments, progress, and shrewd future-proofed choices. It was a long winter, you did a lot of thinking and researching, and you can put it all in motion now.
The Knight of Cups is fun, love, romance, socialising and adventure. You are going to feel swept off your feet with good company and experiences, maybe because you’re busy doing interesting things you will naturally draw a crowd who find your experiments fascinating. Let them join you. March is your time to shine.

Cancer
June 22 to July 23
Tarot cards for Cancer for March: Seven of Coins, Six of Coins, Page of Coins
Meaning: A trio of Coins cards puts your health, wealth, work and home under the spotlight. You are considering changes, shifts, investments and returns, and doing a lot of research and planning.
This card trio makes you a student of life itself right now, you may be fascinated with true-story TV, podcasts by famous folk who’ve done great things, autobiographies, and non-fiction advice and guidance books that share the tips of various trades.
You know that each of your goals has a set ‘play book’ to making it work, and you are looking for each “play book”, which you will then follow to a tee.
This March is a month of discernment too, as the Seven of Coins sees you noticing starkly what no longer thrills or fascinates you, what seems outdated or stale, what doesn’t bring you reward. And you are ready to let this stuff go. You are evolving, changing, growing. It feels great.

Leo
July 24 to August 23
Tarot cards for Leo for March: Six of Swords, Three of Swords, The Moon
Meaning: You are on the move and it feels so good, because you have outgrown, or been wounded by (or both), the things you’re moving on from. This has been a long time coming.
Sometimes you’re most motivated and moved by anger, that is the fuel that compels you to quit, end it, leave, change. And when the anger simmers down, you edge back to the old scene of the crime, no longer motivated to stay away.
Well, the Three and Six of Swords show that pattern is ending. You are going to set new boundaries, hold them firm, and protect yourself.
The Moon reveals that it’s probably a new insight, piece of information or understanding that triggers this lasting shift. You learn something that feels ‘right, that’s it, once and for all’ and you finally, finally, sever the ties you know, deep down, were long overdue being removed.

Virgo
August 24 to September 23
Tarot cards for Virgo for March: The Lovers, Eight of Swords, King of Cups
Meaning: Wisdom is flowing through and all around you this March, enabling you to see to the very heart of matters that are heightening emotions in your realm, and therefore also the way to resolve whatever is causing the conflict or tension.
The Eight of Swords is the key step change here. You no longer look to blame, make others accountable, or focus solely on the external drivers. You are looking within, in the mirror, at your own role or contribution… and that means you have instant control over what you can change.
The Lovers sees this all focusing on a very close, maybe romantic, relationship. Everything feels confusing, emotions blowing hot and cold, decisions made and then unmade.
The King of Cups gifts you the intense emotional intelligence to navigate through conversations and analysis to understand the root cause of this situation, how you’ve played into it and therefore how you can shift the dynamic. And this all leads to a wonderful renewal of your former affections; all made possible by your mediation and patience and compassion. This will be remembered.

The Seven of Wands is all about rivalry, competing, standing your ground, fighting back, racing towards new targets or goals. It feels exciting and invigorating, rather than difficult, and you realise you can win here, you are the MVP!
The Emperor sees this new confidence unfurling in your actions, attitude and decisions. You want to take control, pioneer a new path, and lead the way, and others sense this shift in you and start to follow your lead. The momentum builds. The net result? Victory.
The Four of Wands sees you heading for a prize, a promotion, a reward, or the next level in whatever game it is you’re playing. Well done. Go show them what you can really do!

Scorpio
October 24 to November 22
Tarot cards for Scorpio for March: The Hanged Man, Strength, Eight of Coins
Meaning: When you’ve run out of ideas or strength to tackle something (nothing is working, you’re fed up and fatigued), you just have to step back and let it be.
The Hanged Man gives you permission to surrender and go do something else. Because it’s when you’re not looking that things will mysteriously start to change and shift.
Strength sees you refuelling this March. Replenishing your mind, body and spirit with rest, creativity, play, and nourishment. Actively take time out to take good care of you, because you work so hard, you need to restore your energy.
The Eight of Coins sees a breakthrough moment arising in your stagnant situation when you least expect it, and because you’re so rested, you can return to the fray immediately with renewed vigour and get this task over the line at last. Victory is yours. Celebrate and appreciate your wonderful effort and tenacity.

Sagittarius
November 23 to December 21
Tarot cards for Sagittarius for March: Five of Coins, Ace of Cups, Judgement
Meaning: The phoenix is rising from the ashes again and unfurling her wings ready to soar to the sun once more! The Five of Coins and Ace of Cups combine to bring a rebirth into your life, in a place where you thought hope was lost, and have maybe already grieved whatever it was that was dying away.
Renewal. Hope. New life. A second chance. Is there anything more rewarding and uplifting than a second chance that you truly appreciate? I don’t think there is!
Judgement shows that you enter into this new opportunity with your eyes wide open, knowing and valuing just what you’ve got now, and understanding what you must do to take it to its full potential. This is a destiny moment. Enjoy it.

Capricorn
December 22 to January 21
Tarot cards for Capricorn for March: Five of Wands, King of Swords, Knight of Coins
Meaning: Problem solving is a specialty of yours. I love watching Capricorns go through the gears as they approach, engage with and ultimately overcome an issue. They are relentless, shrewd, and capable.
The Five of Wands sees you tussling with an issue; nothing overly awful or long-term but it’s been annoying and you’ve had enough of waiting for others to sort it out or things to change. You’re engaged!
Firstly, the King of Swords comes into play. The analyst, the thinker, the puzzling-it-out mode. And you make a great strategy that gets you where you need to go, in fact it turns this mess to your advantage (why not, after all you’re putting the effort in).
Next, the Knight of Coins gets to work. You are determined and diligent and on one can out-work you, as shown here. And you easily reach the goal, get your rewards, and maybe a few extras you didn’t expect. So, this March, be the problem solver — you will be well rewarded.

Aquarius
January 22 to February 19
Tarot cards for Aquarius for March: Ten of Wands, Queen of Coins, Ten of Coins
Meaning: Don’t work so hard that you forget to enjoy the fruits of your labour. Don’t stress so deeply about future options or possibilities that you miss out on the joy of the present moment.
The Ten of Wands is a little warning of burn out or overwhelm, so take some time to reorganise, lighten and brighten your schedule, address any nagging fears, and take a load off your mind. All is well, Aquarius. The path is forming ahead and you’re doing great.
The Queen and Ten of Coins see you working very hard, pushing towards solid goals, and making great strides in your health, wealth, work and home ambitions. It’s all happening even if the progress feels slow or hampered — that’s just life. Reward yourself for work well done, targets reached, and goals ticked off. Celebrate your successes. You are on the right path and doing great.

Pisces
February 20 to March 20
Tarot cards for Pisces for March: Two of Wands, The World, The Empress
Meaning: It’s your sign’s season and all is well in the realm of Pisces! In fact, your only problem is which wonderful invite or opportunity to take up, because there are so many, you are wealthy in all the ways that truly matter.
The Two of Wands is the only ask of you this month — prioritise, make conscious choices, know your goals and focus on them. Distraction is the enemy.
The World sees you thinking about travel, location moves, your place in the world and how you can see more of it. Also about life cycles and which things are coming to fruition, a natural conclusion, and which things are ready for renewal or even a totally new start.
The Empress has you feeling loved and adored (because you are) and really enjoying the time you invest with your inner circle. This is a fertility card, so maybe a new child/pet/asset/idea/role is on the cards too this month. You’re attracting all the right things into your life.
