Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) cannot help himself in Emmerdale next week as he pursues his romance with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), who has no idea that he is currently exploiting a number of vulnerable adults and young people.

Ray caught Laurel’s eye as he’s been spending a lot of time in The Hide, where Laurel works.

Ray knows that he will never be able to live a life with Laurel, but enjoys spending time with her because she serves as a reminder that his world could’ve looked incredibly different if Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) hadn’t adopted him.

Elsewhere next week, April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) prepares to head out of the village for another job but gets caught by Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock). Feeling overwhelmed by everything she’s been through this year, April prepares to reveal the truth to her dad.

Also, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) ponders over his connection with his dad when Bear Wolf’s (Joshua Richards) birthday arrives. He admits his misses his father a lot, unaware that he’s a lot closer than Paddy thinks.

And on Celia’s farm, the drug lord tells Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) to deliver some consequences to young lad Robbie with a baseball bat. But will he?

‘Celia has a fondness for Dylan because he reminds her of Ray’, star Jaye Griffiths explained.

‘There is something so still about Fred, the way he plays him, that is always very attractive. Celia has a soft spot for him and she’s prepared to overlook some gut instinct that he’s not all as he seems.

‘Celia wants Dylan to be her new Ray. She wants Dylan to prove he’s loyal by being in charge of the consequences, and the consequences for this lad Robbie, are with a baseball bat.

She added: ‘She wants Dylan to administer the consequences, but he won’t, and Celia is secretly thrilled, it means he’s not the muscle, that’s not him. He’s meant to be a manager.’
