Ant Middleton has flown back into Dubai on a nearly empty plane following Iran’s airstrikes in the UAE.
The former SAS: Who Dares Wins star shared a series of pictures on social media, showing his journey to reunite with his family.
Following some passenger flights being reinstated, it is now possible to fly in and out of the area after all flights and airports were shut down earlier this week in the wake of Iran’s missile strikes.
Middleton joins the likes of Luisa Zissman, Vicky Pattison and Kate Ferdinand in Dubai, many of whom have insisted that the country is still ‘one of the safest places in the world’.
However, some celebrities, including author Alice Liveing, former Love Island star Laura Anderson, Sam Gowland and Made in Chelsea’s Yasmine, have all left the city.
Posting on his Instagram story, Ant captioned a picture of himself with one of his daughters by writing: ‘Mission complete! Back with the family… Thank you, everyone, for your support. Time for a bit of calm preparation and planning.’
He also posted a picture of a plane where nearly all of the seats seemed to be empty.
This comes after former Apprentice contestant Zissman assured her followers that ‘everything is fine’ in Dubai, after she relocated to the UAE.
She said in an Instagram story: ‘The situation here seems to be fine to be honest, the children have broken up one week early from school. I was due back to the UK on Monday for work so hoping that can happen. Can see lots of passenger planes in the sky.
‘I’m worried if I come back to the UK for work I won’t be able to get back to Dubai, so will take the children with me and see my parents too.’
Have you seen this growing trend?
Previously, TV personality Vicky Pattison, 38, insisted the coverage of events has been ‘hyperbolic’ and any damage so far has only been caused by ‘falling debris’ after she was evacuated to her five-star hotel’s underground car park two days ago as a ‘precautionary measure’.
Taking to her Instagram story on Monday, Vicky said: ‘I understand this is a really uncertain situation, and everyone deals with it in different ways, but we’re trying to stay hopeful and measured, and this feels like the best way for us to do that.
‘I am not an expert on geopolitical matters or international affairs, what I can say is that the narrative that Dubai is being “bombed” feels like a hyperbolic one.
‘Currently what we’ve been advised through government channels is that they are intercepting missiles competently and efficiently and what has subsequently caused damage and tragically harm is falling debris.’
The former Geordie Shore star added: ‘We are incredibly grateful to our hotel and the UAE government who are making us feel as safe and informed as possible.
‘Ultimately, we are in one of the safest countries in the world, in a 5-star hotel and we don’t want to add to the rising panic and chaos by stating anything other than rational fact or at the very least what we have been advised is true.’
Another celebrity who insisted she has no regrets about moving to Dubai following Iranian forces retaliating over US airstrikes is Petra Ecclestone.
The 37-year-old fashion designer, who moved to the city last year from the U.S, said she is ‘grateful’ to living in Dubai.
Her husband, Sam Palmer, also tried to quash fears surrounding the situation, as he told his followers it’s ‘not exactly the Blitz’ in an Instagram story while he lounged around the pool with his children.
Meanwhile, former Love Island star Kady McDermott shared a snap of herself sunbathing by the pool in what appeared to be business as usual.
However, in the wake of Iran’s missile strikes, Kate, who is married to retired footballer Rio Ferdinand, is said to be ‘desperate’ to leave.
‘Kate desperately wants home now. Her Dubai bubble burst ages ago, but she’s been sticking it out for Rio and the sake of their family, believing it was for the best for the children,’ a source told The Sun.
‘But now she’s drawn a line under it and told him she wants back in the UK asap.
‘She’s absolutely terrified and won’t come out of the basement. Rio has been very supportive, so it’s likely they’ll be back asap as Kate can’t cope. She was even asking if they could get a private plane back.’
So far, at least three people – expat workers from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh – have been killed and up to 68 injured as a result of falling debris from intercepted Iranian airstrikes directed at the Gulf states since Saturday.
In Dubai, a dramatic clip showing an explosion at the world-famous Fairmont hotel was shared across the world.
The British government is also said to be planning to evacuate thousands of Brits from Dubai, with more than 50,000 believed to be stuck in the UAE.
