Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton have delighted Harry Potter fans after reuniting nearly 15 years after appearing in the final film.
From 2001 until 2011, the pair played the title role and that of his arch-nemesis Draco Malfoy.
However, despite their character’s intense rivalry, the two actors have remained close friends in the years since the film franchise wrapped up.
With both currently starring in Broadway productions – this week they met up – with photos of the catch-up also being shared on social media.
Posting a series of black and white photos on Instagram, Tom shared snaps which included him posing with and hugging Daniel backstage of his show Every Brilliant Thing.
Another showed him making a sarcastic face while standing outside the Hudson Theatre and pointing up to a sign which displayed his friend and former co-star’s name.
The final snap was an image of them as Harry and Draco, holding broomsticks around the time the first Harry Potter film was released.
Referencing their shared history, Tom captioned his post: ‘Broomsticks to Broadway.’
The reunion left many Harry Potter fans delighted.
‘So glad you guys got to meet up again!’ Danielle commented.
‘Day made! Love you both!!’ Ulrika shared.
‘A reunion of Slytherin and Gryffindor,’ Abdul wrote.
‘Oh, seeing you both reunited warms my heart. Two talented people who got a huge, beautiful impact to so many lives worldwide and it all started 25 years ago with magic and now both active on Broadway,’ Charlotte added.
Every Brilliant Thing is a one-man show that sees Daniel play a man who makes a list of reasons to keep living after his mother tried to commit suicide when he was seven years old.
To cheer her up, he makes a list of all of the ‘brilliant things’ to encourage life to be lived to the fullest, but as he grows older and faces his own battles with depression, he begins adding to the list before it eventually numbers over a million items.
Meanwhile Tom has returned to the role of Draco in Broadway’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child theatre production.
Making his debut in November last year, the actor was overcome with emotion after he was forced to pause for quite some time as the crowd erupted into a huge wave of cheers and even screams.
Looking moved by the reaction, he paused to take it all in.
As one fan who was in the theatre later explained on X: ‘I started crying immediately as I saw his reaction to the crowd cheering.’
Tom is the ‘first actor from the films to reprise’ their role on stage, with the show also marking his Broadway debut.
‘Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honours of my life,’ he said when news of his casting in the stage show was announced.
‘Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this fall, I’ll also be the exact age Draco is in the play.
‘It’s surreal to be stepping back into his shoes – and of course his iconic platinum blond hair – and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world.
‘I look forward to joining this incredible company and being a part of the Broadway community.’
He will star in the role until May 10, while Daniel’s show will wrap up on May 24.
Although both stars took part in the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts reunion special which aired in 2022, they were last seen on screen together in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two, which came out in July 2011.
Since Harry Potter ended, Tom has featured in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Murder In The First, The Flash and Origin. Meanwhile Daniel has starred in The Woman in Black, Swiss Army Man and Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.
