The full list of the Bafta TV Award nominations has been announced for 2026, with the first ever season of Celebrity Traitors up for five gongs
This year’s list sees the highest number of nominations go to the groundbreaking Netflix show Adolescence, which tackles the ugly effects of the manosphere and has been on a long-running awards tear ever since.
The show is now up for a staggering 11 awards, including a leading actor nod for Stephen Graham and best supporting for Ashley Walters and Owen Cooper, as well as Christine Tremarco and Erin Doherty in the women’s category.
Also topping the list of nominees are A Thousand Blows on Disney, as well as Trespasses on Channel 4 and Star Wars spin-off Andor, which both earned six nods.
The hosting duties of the awards ceremony, which is set to take place in May, will change hands from Alan Cummings to Greg Davies for the main show, with Maisie Adams helming the craft awards.
Jane Millichip, CEO of Bafta, said in the official announcement: ‘2025 has been an exceptional year for television, reflected in 124 nominated programmes that highlight the strength and originality of British storytelling.
‘From powerful documentaries and standout comedy to homegrown drama and the international series that captured global attention, this year’s nominees demonstrate a medium at its creative peak.
‘It’s especially exciting to see so many first-time performance nominees, showcasing the vibrant new talent shaping the future of our industry.’
The fan favourite P&O Cruises Memorable Moment Award is also back for another year, with scenes from Adolescence, Big Boys, What It Feels Like For a Girl and Blue Lights among the options you can pick from in the public vote, which is now open until April 22.
The award also includes Alan Carr’s winning moment from Celebrity Traitors and Bob Mortimer and Richard Ayoade’s face-off in the first season of Last One Laughing.
Elsewhere in the TV nominations, Richard Osman’s House of Games is up for a daytime Bafta just after announcing he will be stepping down, with Michael Sheen taking over.
