Former Towie star Chloe Lewis has shared horrifying details of her six-year-old’s ice skating accident on New Year’s Eve, which has resulted in him losing part of his finger.

The 35-year-old TV personality welcomed her first child Beau with stockbroker Danny Flasher in 2019. Lewis had initially been pregnant with twins, but miscarried one of the babies two months into the pregnancy.

She has now shared the heartbreaking details of her son’s accident in the hopes of raising awareness about the dangers of ice skating without wearing gloves.

In an emotional post on Instagram, Lewis said that on New Year’s Eve she received the phone call ‘no parent ever wants to receive’.

Posting a video of fireworks out a window as London rang in 2026, in the clip, Lewis then panned to her son lying in a hospital bed in the dark.

In the caption, she wrote: ‘I was told Beau had been in a terrible accident. He fell over ice skating and someone ran over his finger with their bladed skates, which took his finger off.’

She went on to describe the mad 45-minute dash to get to him as ‘a complete blur’.

When she arrived, she said Beau was wrapped in a silver medical blanket, adding: ‘His little face melted my heart and I did my best to hold back the tears so I didn’t upset him.

‘He kept telling me, “It’s fine mum, you don’t need to cry, I’m okay. My finger’s going to be okay”.’

He was taken to The Royal London Hospital in east London and given an X-ray on his finger, before undergoing three-and-a-half-hour plastic surgery on the injury.

‘Watching your child be put to sleep is probably the worst thing I’ve ever experienced – it’s incredibly distressing, and I honestly wouldn’t wish it on anyone,’ wrote Lewis.

She was eventually told that the procedure had gone well and allowed into the room so she could be present when her six-year-old woke up.

However, eight weeks on, the former reality star said the surgery to reattach his finger ‘didn’t take’, explaining: ‘If it didn’t fall away naturally then he’ll have to have another small operation to remove it.

‘It completely broke me and still to this day I can’t believe it’s happened.’

Lewis has now launched a petition here to try to change the law and make it compulsory for children to wear gloves when ice skating.

In the description on the official government website, she has written: ‘I’d like for the law to be changed so children are only permitted to ice skate if wearing protective gloves to protect their hands. The blades are so sharp.’

Signing off her Instagram post, Lewis wrote: ‘I’d be grateful for all your help. I hope one day I can tell Beau I changed the law because of him.’

The petition has over 7,000 signatures at the time of publication, out of a requisite 10,000 for the matter to be responded to by the government and then 100,000 for it to be debated in Parliament.
