After the success of his estranged parents’ Netflix documentaries, Brooklyn Beckham could be starring in his own series too.
The eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham launched a brutal takedown of his parents in a searing statement shared on social media in January, in which he accused them of ‘controlling’ him and ‘trying to ruin’ his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz, 31.
Since then, they’ve tried to extend a public olive branch to their son several times but have been ignored. Their efforts come after the 26-year-old said he ‘doesn’t want to reconcile’ with his family.
Now, a few months on, it’s now being reported Brooklyn could be the centre of his own series – following in the footsteps of his parents’.
An American streamer is said to have contacted the hot sauce entrepreneur, with his management team ‘in early talks with production heads at Hulu’.
‘Brooklyn is keen. Alongside documenting his culinary business venture, Hulu bosses will hope he will open up about the bombshell rift with his parents,’ a source told The Sun.
‘This isn’t just any platform. Hulu which is owned by Disney is home to global smash hits like The Kardashians.
‘They’d be instantly propelled firmly into the big leagues and in direct competition with Netflix, which, of course, has its own Beckham ties having run authored documentaries by both of his parents.’
They went on to share that Brooklyn and Nicola had already ‘been offered big money interviews before but turned them all down’.
‘When they do decide to speak, it will be on their own terms,’ they continued. ‘They also want to make it clear they are not being controlled by the Peltz family and that they make their own decisions.’
Actress and socialite Nicola has appeared in several Hulu productions including The Beauty and When the Streetlights Go On. Her billionaire dad, Nelson, also once controlled a huge stake in Disney.
Over the years Brooklyn has famously copped flack for his string of career aspirations.
He first began modelling professionally in 2014, appearing in the pages and on the covers of publications including Vogue China, Miss Vogue, The New York Times Style Magazine and Dazed Korea.
At the same time, he was also playing in the Arsenal F.C. Academy but left in 2015 after not receiving a scholarship.
The eldest Beckham child is also a keen photographer, working with Burberry on a campaign when he was just 16, however his hiring was slammed by some as ‘sheer nepotism’. Although he began a photography degree at Parsons School of Design at the New School in New York, he dropped out within a year.
He then turned his attention to cooking, but his efforts have been infamously mocked at times. In 2024 he launched the hot sauce brand Cloud 23 – with the name a nod to the No. 23 jersey his father wore at Real Madrid and LA Galaxy.
Meanwhile Nicola has appeared in the show Bates Motel and the 2014 movie Transformers: Age of Extinction. She also made her writing and directorial debut with the film Lola last year.
In 2023 Netflix released the four-part docuseries Beckham, which centred on the life of the former professional footballer and his wife, who rose to fame as part of the Spice Girls before becoming a successful fashion designer.
It was nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards.
Then, last year, the documentary series Victoria Beckham was released by the streaming service in October. Metro’s review of the series said it showed her ‘vulnerability laid bare’ and showed a side to her ‘never seen before’.
Although David and Victoria have shared public social media posts declaring their ‘love’ for their eldest son in recent months, they’ve not yet commented on the estrangement.
However, Nicola’s dad Nelson previously weighed in, sharing: ‘My daughter and the Beckhams are a whole other story. That’s not for coverage here today, but I’ll tell you my daughter’s great, my son-in-law Brooklyn, is great, and I look forward to them having a long, happy marriage together.’
Metro has contacted Hulu and representatives for Brooklyn Beckham for comment.
