There’s nothing like a bit of friendly soap rivalry, and that’s exactly what Emmerdale’s Danny Miller and Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent gave fans during a light-hearted spat on their You Don’t Know You’re Born podcast.

The Aaron Dingle and Sophie Webster stars have an ongoing joke that has seen Brooke tease Danny for using a ‘tear stick’ during his emotional Emmerdale scenes, and it was once again at the centre of their most recent row.

While trying to tell a story about a recent tough day at work, Danny was interrupted by Brooke, who dropped the bombshell that she hadn’t ever actually seen Emmerdale and had a completely different impression of Danny’s character.

‘You always seem to be within the carnage of Emmerdale. I thought that you were just the happy-go-lucky gay guy,’ she admitted, which came as a surprise to Danny.

‘What do you mean? All I’ve done ever done for the last ten years is cry, as you’ve rammed tear stick down my throat,’ he pointed out, referencing the ongoing joke.

This turned into another hilarious spat about Danny’s use of the ‘tool’, which helps actors produce tears in emotional scenes.

Though Brooke gently teased that it was okay for him to admit that he uses a tear stick, Danny was adamant that he hadn’t used one for 15 years.

He continued to defend himself by pointing out that sometimes actors need some help to continually cry during big storylines, before taking a jab at Brooke, insinuating that she ‘wouldn’t get it’ because she didn’t have big enough storylines.

Of course, that isn’t really the case, as Brooke’s character Sophie was at the heart of some major storylines during her stint on the cobbles, including her beloved relationship with Sian Powers.

And, true to his word, Danny has spent a lot of his time as Aaron crying, with the character having suffered abuse at the hands of his father and struggled with coming out.

Fans in the comments were clearly amused by the argument, with some calling for Brooke to tune into Emmerdale.

Others pointed out that there would likely be more tears ahead for Aaron if he finds out that Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) played a role in sending Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) to prison.
