Dragons’ Den fans have been left in floods of tears after Peter Jones described an entrepreneur as a ‘gift to humanity’.

Appearing on the BBC One show on Thursday night, Rome Haghighat presented his sea moss business to Peter, Deborah MeadenTouker Suleyman, Steven Bartlett and new guest Dragon Tinie Tempah.

The Health & Holistics founder revealed his tough upbringing in Tottenham, North London, that saw him enter the youth system and move through different homes.

He also explained how he started a not-for-profit youth organisation to help young children begin their careers.

Moved by his story, Peter fought back tears as he said: ‘I think you’re a gift to humanity as well.

‘Anybody that can go through life and then give back the way that you have is an absolute credit.’

Becoming visibly emotional, Peter then tried to finish his sentence but couldn’t, as Rome thanked him for his kind words.

Reacting to the moment on social media, viewers were similarly moved by Rome’s story, as Gloria wrote on X: ‘So pleased Rome achieved the investment he wanted. Inspirational man.’

Harrison Nash also said: ‘Rome did a super presentation… Peter Jones was rightly inspired and emotional,’ as Suzy called the episode ‘brilliant’.

John also added: ‘What a remarkable North London bloke. He deserved that support. I’ve never seen Peter look so emotional.

As the last pitch of the night, Rome was the only entrepreneur to secure an investment, as Peter, Touker, Steven and Tinie all offered him money.

In the end, Rome chose Peter, Steven and Tinie to go into business with for his wellness brand that launched in 2024.

His company sells supplements made from sea moss, a red algae from the Caribbean rich in nutrients, as well as shilajit, turmeric, ginger, bladderwrack, burdock, spirulina and ashwagandha, which he used to treat inflamation when he was a Muay Thai fighter.

This comes after guest Dragon Tinie told Metro how he wanted to bring a ‘different’ approach to the Den compared to the other Dragons.

‘A lot of the Dragons are so seasoned in what they do, some have done 100s, if not 1000s of investments, putting myself in their shoes, I would just be looking for the profits,’ he said.

‘I would like to call myself a creative entrepreneur. I’m used to going into a studio and someone painting an idea that hasn’t even come into fruition yet and understanding what they’re saying.

‘People say I haven’t made this song yet, but here’s a skeleton, and I’m going to do this and this, and then I’m going to mix it, then I’m going to release it, and then it might become a hit… I think using that creative approach, I was just a little bit more open-minded.’

Dragons’ Den returns next Thursday at 8pm on BBC One.
