Two new EastEnders characters have arrived on Albert Square this week and fans are already heaping praise on them.
Sandra Goodwin (Dawn Steele) and adoptive son Josh Goodwin (Joshua Vaughan) arrived during yesterday’s episode, looking for answers about the circumstances surrounding Anthony Trueman’s murder.
The residents of Albert Square were understandably suspicious of Sandra and her questions at first, and Denise and Kim Fox (Diane Parish and Tameka Empson) took it upon themselves to scare her away, suspecting that she was journalist or true-crime fanatic searching for a story.
However, they were much more welcoming when they learned that Sandra was Josh’s adoptive mum.
She opened up about how she and husband Keith had fostered Josh and twin sister Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) from the age of four, before going on to adopt Josh after Jasmine was placed with a different foster family.
Viewers will know that Jasmine and Josh’s biological mother is Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), and that Anthony was their dad.
Over the Christmas period, Jasmine killed Anthony – something that Josh read about and wanted answers.
Now, fans are calling for Josh and Sandra to become regular features on the Square, heaping praise on the ‘fantastic’ characters.

Going forward, fans are predicting some great chemistry between Josh and Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier).
Viewers will recall that Oscar had previously dated Jasmine, until having his heart broken when she fled Walford without him.
However, it has now been confirmed that Oscar and Josh are set to fall for each other – but how will Jasmine react? And will their romance last?
