Harry Styles didn’t hold back as he fired shots at disgraced former Royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in a scathing jab.
The Watermelon Sugar hitmaker, 32, appeared on Saturday Night Live to promote his new album and tour, Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally, which features the single, Aperture, that he performed live at the Brit Awards.
He delivered the famed five-minute monologue to kick off the show, leaving fans with their jaws agape as he addressed everything from queerbaiting allegations to the ongoing Andrew-Epstein controversy.
The Grammy-winning singer teed up the joke by sharing what he’s been getting up to in his downtime, ‘jogging’.
He continued: ‘There’s nothing interesting about that, but because I’m me, people pretend to find that interesting.
‘But I don’t run to be interesting, I do it for the feeling it gives me. That runner’s high is just amazing. Watermelon sugar high, runner’s high. And if that doesn’t do it for you… I also love ecstasy.
Then, with a glint in his eye, he said: ‘But you know what, as a British man who’s spent a lot of his life in the public eye, I can assure you, there’s something nice about being boring. It’s better than the alternative.’
The notorious snap of the former Prince looking gormless at the back of the police car then flashed up on screen to a wave of laughter as the ex-One Direction star pulled a long grimace to the camera.
Queen Elizabeth II’s second-eldest son has been a major figure caught up in the Epstein Files scandal and was recently arrested (and later released under investigation) on suspicion of misconduct in public office due to correspondence with the late convicted sex offender.
The swipe from Harry left fans shocked, with YouTube user blipmachine commenting: ‘ That Andrew joke was wild…’
Salmalzoubix added: ‘[The] Prince Andrew section killed me’.
‘Harry Styles making an Andrew joke I’m crying,’ X user otbrryyy posted.
‘Harry Styles joke on Prince Andrew omg,’ Alanna Hutton said.
Elsewhere in the monologue, he also sparked plenty of buzz after directly addressing the years of queerbaiting allegations by declaring: ‘Did it ever occur to you that, maybe you don’t know everything about me, dad!’
Before joking: ‘I ran it past him. He was fine with it.’
At another point, he grabbed SNL star Ben Marshall and landed a big smooch on his lips, then winked to the camera. ‘Now that’s queerbaiting,’ he quipped.
Harry fans and beyond are buzzing over his decision to tackle the queerbaiting allegations head-on.
‘Whoever wrote that queerbaiting fashion and kissing Ben Marshall joke for Harry Styles SNL monologue doesn’t know the hell they just unleashed on Earth!!!’ notpunnyhunny shared.
‘“Now that’s queerbaiting” from Harry Styles after kissing a tall redhead man……I did NOT expect to be called out like this????’ chynna wrote.
‘Did not see that coming at all. Honestly, I’m still processing it; the audience went wild, and it’s exactly the kind of unpredictable moment that keeps people talking,’ MaxRumbleX added.
‘Never in all my years would I have thought to hear Harry Styles say the word queerbaiting,’ Maya reflected.
The British music artist is entering a new era of their career as he embarks on a new album tour. He announced his launch concert in Manchester would be a phone-free show that is now also available to stream on Netflix.
