Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Monday’s (October 27) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on at 7pm.

Another Hollyoaks character was declared dead in the aftermath of the explosive 30th anniversary week, which saw three show mainstays perish in the wake of a plane crash.

Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) died in emotional scenes after rubble from The Love Boat fell upon her following the blast, while Grace Black (Tamara Wall) was accidentally shot by sister Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix).

Serial killer Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) also met a grisly end in the plane’s propellors, bringing to an end his reign of terror.

But another character has been confirmed dead on Monday (October 27), with Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) revealing that he killed rapist Griff (Nathan Hubble).

Donny, as viewers know, was taken prisoner at gunpoint by Griff and Sully (Harry French) last week.

The detective, whose real name is Mick Johnston, headed to Brookside Close to protect daughter Gemma (Tisha Merry), who was in danger after Froggy Black (John Middleton) put a hit on her.

Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) was tipped off by Donny of the imminent danger and thus he headed to the location of the hostage situation – but Griff and Sully turned the tables, taking Dodger and Donny captive.

In order to keep him quiet, Sully took Donny to the bedroom of the house and beat him up. In harrowing scenes, Griff then attacked Dodger and raped him – as a helpless Donny was forced to watch.

After Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) paid the gangsters off with diamonds, he and Donny gave chase, with a car collision ensuing.

Appalled by what Griff did to Dodger, Donny exited his vehicle and found the villain on the road. Consumed with rage, he proceeded to attack the gangster.

Monday’s offering of the Channel 4 soap dealt with the fallout of Hollyoaks’ anniversary week and, as the village mourned a number of their loved ones, Donny returned home with Gemma, where he was forced to explain all about his former life to Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi).

The detective also confirmed that he’d killed Griff, confiding in Clare about the impact such a thing has had on him.

Dodger, meanwhile, struggled to process the trauma he’d been through. As he showered, he broke down in tears.

Discussing working on the storyline, Danny Mac said: ‘There was a massive duty of care to get the storyline right and we worked with We Are Survivors. I’ve felt very emotionally attached to this storyline and the people we are speaking to and for. It has been a real journey.’

‘Hollyoaks have explored similar storylines before. There is something about the way this story is going to be explored. It is definitely going to be a new version of what is unfortunately an age-old horrific event.

‘It’s a character no one would be expecting it to happen to. No one will see this coming.’

Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4’s streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
