Hollyoaks’ Jessica Fox has detailed an incident that occurred on the set of the Channel 4 soap, which resulted in a trip to hospital.
The actress, who plays headstrong rebelNancy Osborne in the long running channel four soap, suffered a painful accident during filming following a recent infection which she caught from her son.
Posting on Tik Tok, Jessica addressed her recent absence from social media in fairly blunt terms.
In a video titled ‘ Sometimes you just gotta laugh’, she gave fans a life update in fairly blunt terms.
‘Well it all went to s***’ she explained. That might be something of an understatement.
Jessica’s life has been almost as dramatic as Hollyoaks alter-ego lately. When her son developed a nasty chest infection during his birthday, she had to single-parent while her husband was away.As is so often the case when children pick up bugs, it didn’t take Jessica long before she developed a chest infection too, for which she was prescribed a course of antibiotics.
The illness couldn’t have come at a worse possible time. Jessica was offered the opportunity to be among the first people to experience the new Bluey ride at Alton Towers, where they would stay in the CBeebies hotel.
Knowing how excited her son would be to go, Jessica decides to power through and go to Alton Towers – where they had ‘the best time’.
Unfortunately, the bug Jessica had picked up developed into a full-blown sinus infection, causing her severe pain in her face – which is no joke when smiling for the cameras is part of your job. Or when you’re losing your voice. ‘There’s going to be some interesting episodes going out.’ Jessica joked.
Like an episode of Hollyoaks, just when you thought things couldn’t get any more dramatic – along comes a random medical emergency. Jessica explains that during filming, she tripped on a wine bottle and injured her hand. This resulted in a trip to A&E and stitches in her hand.’It was the straw that broke the camel’s back.’ admits Jess.
Jessica’s not the only one who’s had some serious bad luck recently.
Her character Nancy Osborne was involved in the plane crash stunt last year, and was just involved in another stunt this month, where she was caught in the middle of a major, high-stakes collision featuring the brand new Keane clan, resulting in mortal danger for both families.

While Nancy’s pretty grim at present, Jessica still sees the funny side, and signed off with some upbeat words of wisdom.
‘When things get so unbelievably ridiculously awful, I just have to go to ground and that’s what I’ve been doing.
‘Hope you have all had a better time than I have. There is light at the end of the tunnel. And you’ve got to laugh haven’t you?’
