Mick Jagger’s fiancée Melanie Hamrick has revealed how she was ‘physically attacked’ by two men while on a night out in London.
She was grabbed from behind while at Annabel’s, a private members’ club, in what is thought to have been an opportunistic mugging attempt.
‘This is incredibly hard to share, but I was physically attacked at Annabel’s Mayfair tonight,’ the 38-year-old choreographer wrote on Instagram.
‘I’m so thankful to my friends for protecting me. Two people grabbed me from behind, and thank god for good people who stepped in to help me.’
Melanie added: ‘I’m shaken, sad and heartbroken that people can treat each other this way.’
She and Mick, 82, have been together since 2014, although it’s not thought the Rolling Stones legend was with her at the time of the attack.
Metro has reached out to Annabel’s and the Met Police for comment.
The couple first met when they were both touring Japan 12 years ago and welcomed son Devereaux Octavian Basil into the world in 2016.
They’ve been engaged for several years but plans to actually tie the knot are less concrete.
‘We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything,’ she previously told Paris Match.
Addressing their 44-year age gap, she also told Page Six: ‘He’s younger than me. He’s amazing, really is.’
The couple keep fairly private but are often seen attending events together.
In an unrelated incident, a restaurateur was convicted last week for lacing a woman’s drink with a date-rape drug at Annabel’s.
Vikas Nath, 63, spiked the unsuspecting woman’s spicy margarita with gamma-butyrolactone (GBL) after she left him with the drink at the club’s rooftop garden.
A staff member spotted him tampering with her drink, confirmed by CCTV footage, and alerted the woman and the police.
He was found guilty by a jury of attempting to administer a substance with intent and possession of a Class B drug at Southwark Crown Court.
