A young mother and her 10-month old daughter were killed by a falling 100ft tree as they searched for Easter eggs in a forest.
A 16-year-old girl was also crushed to death underneath the tree in Satrupholm, northern Germany on Easter Sunday.
The area was under a storm warning when the Easter Egg Hunt took place, according to reports.
Around 50 residents and staff from the nearby ‘Sterni-Park’ residential facility were in the woods searching for Easter eggs when the tree fell, crushing four.
Eyewitnesses said colourful eggs were strewn across the accident site amid 60mph winds.
Another young woman, 18, was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries, where she underwent surgery.
The baby was airlifted to a hospital in Kiel with life-threatening injuries, where she later died.
The tree fell at around 11am in a wooded area in the municipality of Mittelangeln.
Terrified participants told emergency services that a tree had fallen on several people, trapping them.
The fire service and ambulances immediately responded to the scene, according to German newspaper Bild.
