Emergency services were called just after 10am on Thursday, February 19, to a single-vehicle collision on the A3 southbound carriageway.

It was reported that a red Ford Fiesta left the carriageway before crashing – police are investigating what caused the deadly smash.

A seven-year-old girl and woman, 43, both from Portsmouth, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Hampshire Police said: ‘We would like to speak to any witnesses and, in particular, anyone with relevant dash cam footage of the incident or the moments leading up to it.’
