Brazil: 12 University Students Killed in a Bus Accident .

A bus transporting university students from Brazil was involved in a collision with a truck late Thursday, resulting in the deaths of 12 individuals and injuries to 19 others near Ribeirao Preto in the southeastern state of Sao Paulo, according to local media and firefighters.

The bus was en route with students from the University of Franca, commonly referred to as Unifran. The university’s athletic association shared a statement on Instagram, extending condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

State firefighters reported on social media that first responders treated a total of 31 victims at the accident site, which included the 12 deceased students.
