This article contains spoilers for tonight’s (Tuesday, February 24) Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on YouTube and ITVX.

We all had a hunch that there was something off about Coronation Street newcomer Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown), and tonight’s episode has confirmed exactly that.

The circumstances surrounding her arrival on the cobbles were more than unusual, but we thought things were set to finally become clearer once Jodie was confirmed to be Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) estranged half-sister.

Unfortunately, things only seem to have got more complicated, and it’s been difficult to discern which, if any, of Jodie’s stories have been true.

The one thing that we’re sure of is that she is hiding something dodgy.

In tonight’s episode, she ran into a face from her past and, though you’ll have to tune in to find out exactly who, we can tell you that Jodie once again lied to her face.

She told her visitor that she was currently living in witness protection, after witnessing a murder, and warned that no one could know they’d seen each other.

As if we weren’t baffled enough by this fabricated tale, Jodie left us even more concerned when she returned home with another trophy for her trinket box…

Across the street, Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) was going out of her mind with worry, after a terrifying incident with Mal Roper (Tim Treloar) last night.

After being held against her will in the café, Bernie returned home to find that her face had been cut out of her wedding picture.

Obviously, Bernie assumed that Mal had been the culprit, and confronted him in tonight’s episode.

Mal swore that he was innocent, but Bernie didn’t believe him, accusing him of gaslighting her and warning him to stay away.

However, it soon turned out that Mal really was innocent of this particular crime.

The real culprit had been Jodie!

Jodie has been keeping a box of treasures hidden under the Platt’s sofa, and tonight she added the cut-out of Bernie’s face to her collection.

Of course, this has left us with a lot of questions.

Are the rest of her trinkets trophies from previous crimes? And if so, who do they belong to?

Moreover, why is Jodie targeting Bernie?

Jodie and Bernie have been working together in the café, and during that time, Jodie has expressed her displeasure at the way Bernie has spoken to her. Though Bernie apologised at the time, could Jodie be harbouring some sort of grudge?

That evening, Jodie had encouraged Mal by assuring him that Bernie liked him, despite Bernie having told her the complete opposite, and in tonight’s episode she made out to Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) that Bernie must have been doing the walk of shame home from Chesney Brown’s (Sam Aston).

Though Lily argued that Chesney was Bernie’s son-in-law, Jodie doubled down on her speculation, telling Lily she could see things that others couldn’t.

What is it that Jodie has against Bernie, and could it end in disaster?
