Often, when you visit a spa, they’ll be playing soft music or ocean sounds, in a bid to help guests relax.
But at a brand new spot in Scotland, you can listen to waves lap against the shore without any speakers, as the spa is right on the beach.
SI! Spa can be found at The Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride, Ayrshire, which is just under an hour’s drive from Glasgow.
Owned by SimpsInns, the hotel has just completed an impressive £3m development, including the state-of-the-art spa and adding 17 new ‘luxury’ guest suites.
As such, it’s been hailed as ‘one of the most exciting leisure and tourism openings in Scotland for 2026’, but you can enjoy a visit without paying premium prices.
Prices at the spa start from just £45 per person for a Sunrise Thermal Experience, Monday to Thursday. For a weekend visit, this price goes up to £55.
The £45 package is ideal for early risers, as it starts from 8 am, at which time guests can enjoy calm coastal views, as well as a peaceful two hours testing out all of the hotel’s thermal facilities, with full access to everything.

This includes an outdoor hydro pool, set against the stunning backdrop of the Firth of Clyde and the dramatic peaks of the Isle of Arran, as well as outdoor experience showers, cold water drench buckets, and a sheltered fire pit area.
Curious as to what an ‘experience shower’ involves? According to the spa, guests can choose what kind of shower they want, picking between options such as warm tropical rainfall and an invigorating Arctic mist.
The spa experiences continue inside, with a steam room and sauna, plus a tranquil relaxation space with floor-to-ceiling windows showing off the coastline in all its glory.
Spa-goers can also visit the SI! Spa Lounge, and for an extra cost, add breakfast, afternoon tea, or a light bite to their experience, plus cocktails from the bar.
Several traditional spa treatments such as facials, massages, reflexology, and LED light experiences, are available for an additional fee, but these will need to be booked in advance.
The hotel provides robes and towels for all guests, but not slippers. As such, people are asked to bring ‘suitable footwear’ such as flip flops. If you forget, these can be purchased from the spa reception for £3.50.
Online, the hotel and spa has been garnering great reviews on Tripadvisor, with one visitor known only as Lyndsay M giving it five stars and saying: ‘It was so lovely, beautiful facilities and clean. The only thing missing wasa little prosecco in the hot tub.’
Similarly, Margo wrote: ‘Wonderful chilled out two-hour thermal experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The views from the outdoor pool over to the Isle of Arran were beautiful.’
And SB123456 shared: ‘Wow. Exceptional! They really have thought of everything… the views are unbeatable, loved the fire pit and outdoor hydro pool. Thermal suite is great, and my friend and I really enjoyed our treatments (massages). Highly recommend this as probably the best and most relaxing spa in Scotland.’
Others called the spa ‘gorgeous’, ‘immaculately clean’, ‘excellent’, and ‘heaven’.
Other UK spas worth a visit…
