A manhunt has been launched after a woman was sexually assaulted in the woods during broad daylight.
The unnamed victim was attacked at around 11.53am yesterday in Grace Dieu Woods near Coalville, Leicestershire.
She was taken to hospital as a precaution, from where she has now been discharged and is now receiving support from specialist officers.
DI Jenny Tattersall said: ‘I’d like to reassure the community that we are doing everything we can to identify and arrest the person responsible for this attack.
‘I’d like to urgently speak to anyone who was in the woods yesterday morning – regardless of whether you saw anything out of the ordinary or not. Please contact us.

‘Our officers are supporting the victim and obtaining all the evidence we can to assist our investigation.
‘Forensic searches and searches by police dogs were carried out yesterday, and searches by specialist officers are continuing today within the woods.
‘There will also be an increase in patrols in the area from local officers as reassurance to the public. I’d like to take this opportunity to urge people to be vigilant to their surroundings in the area.
‘If anyone has any information – possibly about anyone they saw acting suspiciously in the area of Grace Dieu woods late this morning or early afternoon – please contact us.’
